ipad on new e89 dash

has anyone install ipad on their new zed??? i was wondering where to integrate the device since there isnt much space to begin with...

any suggestions??

It would have to be a hardcore conversion. Maybe removing the entire area where the short cut buttons are or the radio if you don't have idrive. Maybe something like the 430 scuderia, but it would need to have an articulated holder so that you can turn it towards the driver and/or towards the passenger. People have upgraded the CPU to accept a laptop and control much more than music and navigation so the iPad could definitely be used 100% of the time and not just for music and movies.

I have the idrive system...tat's the problem...i was thinking of a cradle or ipad holder only..so tat it wont get messy as compare to full integration to the dash.....but the thing is, i could not find a suitable holder/cradle/bracket etc....... any advice?

bcoz i'd like to play games, watch HD movies on the go...plus the ipad screen is bigger than idrive....basically juz for in car entertainment purpose during traffic,while waiting or on long hour journey drive..... not to mention it looks cool on dashboard...

I guess you have to wait a few years .... for BMW to add it as an option

or trade her in for a Mercedes CLS they make provision for it, only not for the driver to play games LOL

I think you might be missing the point of a roadster. The purpose of the car is to put the top down and enjoy driving the car not to watch movies. Don't get me wrong I like electronic gizmos too, but watching movies in a roadster? The car is supposed to be the entertainment. Drive your big SUV or limo if you must watch movies while in a car. I got an iPad and immediately thought of plugging it into the iPod cables but then one side of my brain said "WTF" and I forgot that idea......:LOL

i know wat u mean...but imagine when the top is down and ppl saw ipad on the dash...it will be instant WOW factor!! as for watching movies or gaming goes, it is more towards the passenger tat Im fetching with tis sweet sweet ride...i mean, id like to keep my fren entertain when we go for long journey drive....
plus, sometimes i got some spare time to kill n would like to play games while waiting in my car..yes i can play game using psp, or other portable gaming device but those screen are too bloody small....
i always like KITT (knight rider), i think he got the coolest dash!!!!!
