Oil Pan Gasket

Has anyone had or heard of "oil pan gasket seepage". I noticed a little oil on the side and back of the oil pan when the CDV was removed in July. Asked dealer to look at it this week during oil change (love competitors coupons. Out the door for less than oil and filter would have cost.) Seepage was their diagnosis. No oil on inside of belly shield. I thought it might have been from when the valve cover and gasket was replaced over a year ago.

Hi OP, I have had that issue in the past on other cars. I personally don't think it is uncommon in general but haven't heard of it as a "watch out" for the E89 specifically.

I had the valve cover gasket replaced at 20k miles too due to leakage. I will keep an eye out for the oil pan gasket, thanks.

I'm not saying it's something to "watch out for". I did learn you do not want to try to re-torque the pan bolts as they are aluminum. They have to be replaced. I also believe the sub-frame needs to be lowered to drop the pan. I will take care of it in the spring if more oil is present (cleaned area). The estimate was close to $1200. Glad I have 2 1/2 years left on CPO + wrap around.

I'm looking out for possible DCT leak anyway, so what's another thing to check on

Maybe you can swap in a baffled oil pan while you are in there
