Alcantara interior
I just finished my Alcantara interior project. I covered the headliners, both A-pillars and the top window frame (where the interior lights are). Also, the radio fascia now got a nice Alcantara wrap.
I used genuine Alcantara Pannel (without the back padding). The stuff isn't cheap ($100/yard) and hard to work with, but once its on it looks damn nice. My plan was to wrap the door compartment as well but didn't want to take apart the whole panel. I am however looking for more parts to wrap. Pictures to follow... |

Here are some pictures. The headliners, A-pillar covers, upper window frame, radio fascia, plastic hard top cover lid, the little flaps and the front part of the roll bar covers are wrapped in Alcantara. The back part of the roll bar covers is wrapped in carbon fiber.
I took the pictures with my cell phone, so the quality is not great.

That is very very nice. I'd be concerned about water marks given where you've wrapped but it does look great. I particularly like the rear deck in black alcantara.

I did quite a bit of testing and Alcantara is an amazing material. Easy to clean, UV resistant and durable. I had some water stains on one piece from my steamer that I used to stretch the material. Just used a wet cloth and it cam right off.

More Alcantara. By now all plastic trim pieces are covered in 9040 Alcantara, including rear lateral panels and roll bar covers. Next up is re-doing the headliner in Alcantara. I am thinking using 1/8" scrim and sewing a diamond pattern with grey/silver thread. Finally, the lower part of the door trim will be covered the same way with the storage flap wrapped plain and simply.

Great meticulous job! But it would drive me mad with the slight shading u get from rubbing it the opposite direction hehe. I would be constantly smoothing it out.
Well done again. |

Yes, it is kind of like carpet that shows footsteps......which led me eventually to all hardwood flooring!
