2014 and Messages problem

In my 2011 35is I had no difficulty viewing text messages on my iPhone, receiving MyInfo messages from Google Maps, or receiving messages from the BMW Remote App.

In my 2014 35is (with Technology Package and the correct snap-in adapter or using an Apple cable), I can't get any of these things to work.

Can anyone with a 2014 comment?

Me again. This sounds like perhaps your BMW Assist account isn't activated yet. The MyInfo aspect specifically requires a BMW Assist account to be active, that's how you get destinations into the nav from Google maps.

As for txt messages, I've not seen anything in the documentation or in the iDrive system itself that made me believe I'd be able to read txt messages from my phone on the nav screen.

I've confirmed that my BMW Assist account is active and correct, at least according to the BMW Assist hotline.

I was reading text messages on the screen of my 2011 Z4 35is on the way to the dealer to pick up this car. There was a Messages section in the Telephone tab in which both "Service Messages" (MyInfo, etc.) and "SMS Messages" appeared. "Email Messages" was another option, but since I used the Gmail app for email that never worked.

On the way home, nothing. Same phone, same cable.

According to the BMW Assist hotline, they're currently having a problem with MyInfo messages, which might explain why I'm not receiving any. Or it might not. We'll see.

I got text messages sorted out. I removed my paired phone from the car, removed the paired car from the phone, and re-paired. The next text message I got showed up on the Control Display as expected.

Still no MyInfo messages (either from Google or BMW Remote), but that could be because of the outage the BMW Assist guy told me about earlier today.

Curious, which model iPhone?

I'm using an iPhone 5s. It also worked in my last Z4 with an iPhone 5, a 4S, and a 4. I can't think of a reason to think the newer car would be that different. I can test a 5 and a 4S fairly easily.

It is necessary to ensure that on the car Office is checked under Bluetooth Settings and that on the iPhone Show Notifications is on under the settings for the car under Bluetooth in Settings.

Now that I think about it, I had to go through the unpair/repair process with the 2011 Z4 and with my wife's X3.
