I owned a 987 boxster s before and did not even bring it to track once. Sold it and then just booked a new Z4, love the look and the hard-top roadster + the huge torque at low rpm.
I drive it to work daily + some weekend trips once a while and this Z4 will do very nicely. If I want to go track work, I bring my 911. Cheers! |

I often park next to a Porsche Boxster at work and I would not trade my new Z4 for a Boxster even if they threw in 10K in cash. The styling of the Boxster is hideous. In Sport+ mode the s35i drives great just like any real roadster/sportscar. The extra weight is meaningless with this engine.

I beg to differs. BMW is a mass market car so they need to produce cars that attract mass mkt. If you really want a UDM, u need to buy something from the M division, thats where the real UDM lies.
The new Z4 to me is a great compromises, not too hardcore as compare to Boxster S but much better than a SLK. I will not buy the previous model Z4 as it is too close to the Boxster and I will rather get a Boxster than the previous model Z4. my 2 cents. |

I just remember the 5th gear review when they compared the Z4M (previous generation) with the Boxster S.
The analogy went something like this: Boxster S was an elegant, beautifully composed entree vs the Z4M which was a red hot chili pepper! Here's hoping they release an M version of the updated Z4. |
