Mostly around town driving, my OBC is showing 30.7 mpg. I'm happy with that!

You can see my values here:
http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/331331.html Basically my 23i needs about 8.4 liters on average. Some trips have been with high speed driving (240 km/h) for a short distance. Most trips were mainly highway and country roads, little in-town riding. |

for reference...
I did fuel after 1 km the reserve light went on.I did exactly 40 liters because the pump of the station was starting to cut out every single drop of petrol... then today the light went on again, 420kms...so 10.5km/l..... not bad!really pleased..... |

mm well; find it very difficult, even driving in eco-mode to reach less than 16.l / 100 for city drive, for daily 8 km, cold engine, at 20 km/h average speed... -(

impressed by your table.. suspect you just set cruise control for such low values.. i also see that you changed oil after 5000, is this recommendation from dealer, ? thought not anymore necessary according to various dealers (even my porsche ) |

However, I sometimes need to travel to Germany for business purposes and I then enjoy riding fast if traffic permits. I changed the oil based on my own decision. BMW does not recommend or require it. I even had to pay for it privately since it is not covered by the BMW "included service". When I was at the garage however, the people working on the car all agreed that (even though it is not recommended by BMW) it cannot hurt since the first regular oil exchange is at 30'000 km. Since I drive my cars for 6 to 8 years with 45'000 km per year I see this as an investment into the long term durability of my car's engine. |
