question for dog owners or any others familiar with dogs
Considering to adopt a 13 month bull terrier. The owner, friend of a friend, wants to give it for adoption and i'm thinking of getting him. do you think it will adapt well to the new environment? the breed is known to be very connected with its owner and i have my concerns.

yeah, dogs go to where the love and affection is.
as long as you let him know you're a new loving owner, he'll have little to no issues re-housing..... p.s. I just had 10 pitbull puppies on Thursday... |

It depends. Why is the owner giving him away? Does he have behavior issues? Aggression to people/food, etc? I'm a dog owner but I've also volunteered at second change dogs at animal shelters and some dogs are unfortunately not able to adapt due to its prior history.
I hope you are able to provide the puppy with the love and attention they require. Bull terriers are certainly very unique looking

she is giving it because she already has two more, he is the younger one. he doesn't seem aggressive at all but you never know. We will take him for a week and see how that goes.. yes they are unique indeed, everybody tells me that they are ugly, i love how they look..

Key point is to establish yourself as a firm and consistent alpha in the household. That alone will solve most behavioral issues.
Most dog owners go astray by condoning or encouraging "cute" behavior which ultimately undermines their authority. |

Should be fine. I LOVE bull terriers but my with thinks they're really ugly so we got a Staffordshire Bull Terrier instead. Great dogs!

We adopted a two year old english setter/brittany spaniel mix a couple of weeks ago. Super sweet dog. She likes to dig in the yard though and tore up a couple of the wife's plants. Working on stopping that now.
Adopting an older dog just means the dog will need to adapt to the new routine. You should be fine. Dogs are creatures of habit, so once they get into a routine it'll be great.
