Please back on-topic ! This could be an interesting thread !

One more: you can kill traffic information - when it comes through your normal radio station - by using the up/down buttons on the steering wheel (which are normally used to change the radio station): just push it once and the traffic info stops

I was just thinking of the Alabama special on TopGear...
When they managed to balance a dead cow on the roof of a 2 door sports car.

Still makes me laugh...

The hood, of course. With the top open with your head sticking out and having the cruise turned on for much of the return trip...that'll work out just fine.

Speaking from experience I assume ....

"Only in America"

Better get back on track here.......I checked my rear camber visually and it looks a lot less aggressive than the normal set-up, maybe that's why my tires are wearing evenly and my rims aren't cracked....just a thought..

My contributions...

There is a second 12 v "cigarette lighter" plug in the passenger footwell (look up where their left foot is).

Voice activation - push button, wait for tone say "FM XX.XX" (xx.xx = frequency) and it will auto-tune.

Voice activation - "Map" will bring up navigation map

Don't set something behind the seat and switch drivers when they have different seat programming... ouch...

Some may be obvious, but, who knows, nobody knows everything and might have missed some. Feel free to add more!

Here are mine so far:
1. when you buckle your belt, there is a plastic slide-able bar on the strap: slide it all the way to the buckle, so that when you unbuckle, it keeps the buckle in place in the right position for the next time you buckle

2. (I'm not certain about this one; more a ques) for AMA and FMA channels, supposedly the 6 strongest signal channels are automatically recorded? however, I found that you can use these spaces to store your own channels

3. (I skimmed the manual so I missed this one initially) the gas cap can be put on the green circle hole when filling gas (doh!) instead of letting it hang

4. whenever you adjust the seats, make sure they don't rub up/squeeze against the back wall (that can't be good)

5. if you don't want to use an aftermkt storage compartment, I found wrapping grocery bags around those 2 rubber straps in the trunk usually secures the bags quite well (on another topic, that back shelf behind the seats is virtually useless save for newspapers, handbags, etc lol)

6. when just chilling in the car w/ engine off and listening to the radio, it is good to switch the lights from 'automatic' to 'off' to conserve the battery
During my long trip in the US I discovered that when you lightly tap the speed control down you increase by 1 KM (perhaps 1 Mile on US models). Tapping up (toward you) decreases the speed by 1 KM (or for US cars 1 Mile?) each time you tap the lever. I found it cool.

I assume you also discovered that a proper tap sets your speed to the nearest increment of 10 km/h?

South-ern Alberta.....and the guns sit nice and tidy through the ski-bag/pass thru, inside the bag, and don't reach my elbow so are very unobtrusive....

I wish the Z4 had a selector for switching from mph to kph and back. I can switch the mpg to L/100km but it sure would be handy to have an mph display (I use a GPS for it now)

Oh yes I did one I did that when a Highway Patrol was watching me closely. I tapped the wrong direction and quickly reversed the action

Unfortunately not, I guess the German designers think we only drive in Canada so we don't need MPH readout. I've got it pretty well set in my head as to what the conversion is.

Here's a compartment I found in the trunck while looking/at the "Tool Kit" and battery storage under the large trunck floor pad. Its on the drivers side, rear of the wheel well, about 7"(w) x 10" (l) X 5" (d). Rotate the plastic "T" knob and lift. I wish I had know about this on our ED. Perfect for the First aid kit/handgun.

That picture makes it look bigger than what it is. I stash the "tool kit" and a small flashlight in there. I also found a space along side the battery under the floor to stash a quart of oil.

for the 35iS drivers amongst us: there is a switch that can be activated when doing pedal-to-the-metal to release the extra power (+50Nm) for about 6 or 7 seconds ... just push further when you think you have reached the end ...

Rolf dieter, I checked my tires again and I'm starting to show inside wear. No cracks though. I also talked to the Service mgr and he said "It's because of the aggressive camber, I've got a pile of tires out back with the insides worn off" So I guess it's normal, don't like it but what happens if we get the camber eased off a bit, loss of handling?

I just figured out the steering column is telescopic and upon further handbook reading, sure enough, it's mentioned.

Drive in the Mohave Desert and Hyway 1 from LA north to Origain and you will too have rear wheel cracks I guarantee it. oh yes and the sharp on and off ramps to the US express ways ... unless you take it real gentle and hold everyone behind you up.

Just keep an eye on the rear rims, slightest sign of a crack you know where to bring your toy

Did I tell you they wanted to have me call Road Assistance for them to tow me to the nearest Canadian BMW dealership ... that would have been Calgary I guess or even Lethbridge, Alberta the nerve I opted for option two get a new wheel mount it and let me drive home.
