Lease Residuals and MF on 2011

I ordered my 2011 Z4 3.0i way back in June, should be getting it anyday now. I locked in the 1.9% financing offer at that time, but now I have changed my mind to lease it instead of financing. Back then they had terrific lease deal.

Quoting from a Bimmerpost from that time
"2011 Z4 sdrive30i is 79% residual for 24 month lease at 12,000 miles/year. MF is .00145. No options get you a payment around $400/mo with nothing out of pocket at signing but first month."

Questions:
1. Can I change the deal to Lease instead of financing?
2. Will/Can the dealer still honor the deal from that time? I am assuming yes, still it can/will still give me the 1.9% finance rate which doesnt exist anymore either?

Even if it were posible, good luck getting anyone from either the dealer or the finance company to drop everything else they are doing to jump through several hoops to help you switch everything over to a lease.

They are concerned only with where their next new deal is coming from, not helping someone they already closed a deal with, save money.

God forbid if they actually CARED about anything else but their own money.

Actually some dealers do care

Steve Thomas specifically told me to go to a different dealer cause that dealer wouldn't do a dealer trade, and they couldn't get me the car I wanted at the price I wanted

They know I will be back when I do ED and whatnot though hehe

Ryan is amazing

Well, technically - there is no deal. So if I cant buy it outright due to changed personal circumstances since I ordered it over 3 months back, then at least I should have an option to lease it. If not, I could in theory walk away and then they would need to generate a new customer.

But again, is it possible or now? and if so, can I get the same lease rates from when I ordered (as I am getting the same financing rate from then?

They will probably get you in at the current lease rate, the one you're quoting won't be doable... But in either case, walk in there and put your foot down, worst case scenario you go back home in a cab.

They will do whatever is in their best interest, not yours. If their best interest just happens to match yours, then consider yourself lucky. The funny thing about this scenarion is that they will make it seem like the bent over backwards just for you.

If you can't get the finance/lease deal you want and want to walk away, as long as you don't have a deposit to lose, then give it a try. See what they do at that point.

However, if they know/think they have someone else to buy or think they can sell the car fast of for more $$ than what you paid, they will watch you walk out the door and into your cab and waive goodbye and they'll all get a good night's sleep.

Dealer likes leasing way more than financing so if they can, they likely will help you out. Leasing means dealer has a chance of selling/leasing you a new car 2-3 years from now, and they likely will have a used car to sell as well. Kill 3 birds with 1 stone.
