Sticker on car was approx $63k.

Got a 30 month lease, 10k miles a year, just fees due upfront, no cap cost, and taxes (for NY) included in payment. Also, multiple security deposits used to lower payment.

Total upfront out of pocket $2000 (+ refunable sec deposit)
Monthly payment is at $625.

Pretty sweet deal as well. Car is for my father. He is coming out of an 07 Z4M. Finally his Z4 will keep up with my 135i (modded) once I get him JB3 + intake.

PM me if you're in the NY area and need help getting a similar deal. I have a good hookup. The rates are good through 8/31.
What was your Net CAP Cost? Was the Z4M part of the transaction as a trade- in?

+1 can you give us a breakdown of your fees and taxes? And did you do the max 6 MSDs or less?

Regardless, 625/mo for a $63K car with no CCR is a smoking deal

How are you guys getting these deals? I've tried a few dealerships in the socal area and they keep telling me the same stupid story. They keep telling me "its a bait and switch from BMW north america." They are telling me like $3500 down with $750+ a month.

If folks are going to post about the lease deal, then we need to know all the facts. Was there a trade-in? What was the MSRP? What was the CAP Cost? Eactly what did you pay for up front out of pocket and how much? How many pre-paid security deposits? How many miles/year? Does the payment include sales tax?

Saying "you got $600/month with $3000 out of pocket" doesn't tell the whole story.

Once all the facts are revealed, then those that need to go to dealers to negotiate, have all the ammunition they need.

Personally, I'm not one of them, but always like to compare how I did on my financing vs. the lease deals right now

More specific lease details...

See below:

Sorry for not being more detailed before. Here are all the details.

There was no trade in. The lease on my 07 M Roadster expires in September.

The car is a 2009 Z4 3.5 sDrive, with a MSRP of $63,025. (Space gray on red, 6-Speed Manual, Sport Pkg w/ 19's, Prem Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Comfort Access, Navigation, iPod+USB.)

Discounted selling price on the car was approx $57,950, which is straight invoice price.

I am putting down 6 (the max #) of security deposits, which are refundable, for a total of $3,950. There is no Cap Cost payment on the car. I just paid the fees upfront, which include bank fee, doc fee and motor vehicle fees (approx ~ 895 + 175 + 125). There is no other security deposit as I am a currently leasing other BMWs.

So total due at signing was $1295 (fees) + $625 (1st month) payment + $3950 (6 refundable security deposits) = $5,870. Of that, $3,950 is refundable at lease end.

I signed a 30 month lease, with 10k miles per year.
The deal is for $625/month. This includes tax (for NY at 8.375%). There was no cap cost

The car is in production and will arrive in 3-4 weeks. My dealership locked in the good rates for me, for 60 days.

Any other questions?

---------------------------
The depreciation is $57,950 NET CAP Cost - $39,705 Residual Value = $18,245 / 30 mo. = $608/mo.
$608 x 1.08365 = $659/mo. inc tax + whateveer the small interest per month is.
Looks like they made some kind of error computing your payment, or I could just be missing something. Either way a good deal!!!.

I ran it through the calculator and got a base payment of $553.06, and a payment with tax of 598.69, which means I missed something too. Did you use a residual of 66% and calculate that from MSRP?

This lease = ridonkulous, I'm suprised they would do a straight invoice deal on a car that isn't even on the ground yet. Congrats to the new driver!

I used residual of 63% but just checked BMW web site. Residual is 66%, so, like you said, base pmt is $553 + tax = $598 + Interest, which may very well be about $27/mo.

Scott, We believe you, just trying to figure out how the dealer got there. Seems to make sense now.

One thing I was told is not to trust online lease calc sites, even bmwusa.com. There are always fees that the dealer has to add that may not be acounted for. I saw a $40-$50 difference in payment on my calcs.

They sold the car at invoice because it's our 4th current BMW we're leasing from them. The last one was my 135i that I got back in Feb of this year.

The lease on that car is rediculous as well.

I don't have the entire breakdown... but..

I pay $404 a month, 30 months, 10k miles a year, no cap cost, NY tax included in monthly payment, and $29/month tire/wheel warranty also included in $404/mo payment.

MSRP on the car was $45,125. In Jan/Feb BMW had an additional rebate on the car, but the dealer I go to always works the best deals.

Again, if you're in the NY/NJ area and need a different/more reliable/more fair dealership, PM me and I'll hook you up with my guy.

I use the calc at Leaseguide.com, it was invaluable in helping me understand how leases are structured and how changes in the fees and variables affect the payment amount.

I'm not sure what can't be accounted for in that calculator. The only fees I paid on my lease were the acq. fee, doc fee (capped at $100 in the state where my car came from), and the temp tag fee. If you're buying in state then you'll have some state mandated registration fees as well, those I paid when I registered my car at the DMV myself. Any other fees are just the dealer packing your lease for profit, those are of course negotiable.

I haven't had the chance to congratulate you on your new car Richard, I know you're loving it. You and I met up at Cars and Coffee a couple months back, I had the Blue Water 135 there. I'm looking forward to seeing your car at some point.

Wow, that's a crazy 135 lease, so crazy I'm not sure how your dealer did it without losing his ass. Mine was done 2/28 on the last day of the deals. The lease on mine is 36/12, MSRP $47,900, selling price of $750 under invoice (the rebate you spoke of), base MF less 3 MSDs (.00029), No CCR, and my payment w/o tax is at least $125 more per month than yours. I did roll the acq. fee back into mine which explains some of the difference. Still, I don't have any idea how you got a ~$350/ mo base payment with no CCR over 36 months, let alone 30, unless your car was priced at $2K or more below invoice.

Your dealer must have wanted that car off the lot very, very badly

Mine was a 135i coupe. I see that yours was a vert, right? If so, the rates on the coupe were much better than the vert. Also, I signed my deal on 2/2, which was the last day you could get the rebate which ended in January. Not sure if there was another rebate running in Feb, but it was likely for less. Mine was the last 08 1 series they had in stock, and they were looking to unload it in time for the 09s.

Anyhow, I might be looking to swap the lease on my 135i in the near future.

For anyone reading, its an Alpine White on Black 08 135i, auto, sport, premium, cold weather, and navigation. 10k miles a year. Car has 8k miles now (which is slightly over), and lease ends in feb 2012. Car is mint, no curbed wheels, no accidents, no scratches. $404 a month, including transferrable tire and wheel warranty for the duration of the lease. JB3 and DCI installed...

Shouldn't matter. Anyone in Socal or Timbuktu should walk in and make the offer and tell the dealer they are either going to be the 1st in the area to get this deal, or if others aleady are getting the same deal, then they want it too. Tell the dealer if they do not accept, then you'll "hold of for the economy to FULLY recover before making a car purchase".....or just say anything that leads them to believe the deal is either going down your way, or NO WAY. Use your imagination. You must be prepared to walk out the front door if they do not accept your offer.

Couple questions on the '09 Z4 lease deal...

Hey guys, looking at this crazy '09 Z4 lease deal and had a couple questions on the $$ side:

1) I'm getting quotes from dealers and they all specify a security deposit; why is that? I just turned in an '06 E46 M3 ~3 months ago...so I'm not a first-time BMW leaser or anything (though I did use US Bank and not BMWFS last time; is that it?) And I assume this SD is diff from the MSDs that reduce the MF right?

2) What's the max # of MSDs that I can do? I see Scott posted that he did 6 MSDs and said that was the max, but I thought 7 was the max # of MSDs, no? (see: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=221741 ) And since the MF is .0005 that would make the final MF an unreal .00001 or an APR of .024%!! And with a residual of 66%, and a 30-month term...these things are a steal, no?!

3) What's the min drive-off I can do? I know I'll have 1st mo. payment + any MSDs (if I decide to do them) and ~$400 for license+reg, but anything else I'll have to pay? I know I can roll the inception/acq fee (from $625-925 right?) and the doc fee ($45) into the cap cost if I want. But I keep getting quotes for drive-off that are $400-500 higher than those #s added up from dealers now so I'm wondering what the extra drive-off costs might be...

Thanks for any help guys!
