The best for seat wear is the vinyl.. that stuff is invincible... but I don't think it is an option on the 35i/is

Thx OP. Please give another review when the weather gets hot.

Vinyl? Man, I'd rather suffer some wear and slippage instead of dealing w/ vinyl as seats. Yuck.

After only about 2 months and 3,000 miles, the leg bolsters are already showing some wrinkles. Alcantara still looks new though

Also, I don't have a 2009 so I'm not exactly sure, but I was under the impression that all Z4s have white headliner, including 2014, unless you get the M-Sport package or just Sport Package, in which case you will get the anthracite(black) headliner. Correct me if I'm wrong though, because it looks like your car doesn't have M-Sport, but it may have Sport Package which will explain the anthracite headliner. Unless they changed it all together.
I did not order the M package- just the normal 35i - the headliner is black -maybe because of the Hyper Orange Package that you have to order with the Orange color paint -

Yup, that is it then. I checked on the BMW configurator and it looks like the headliner is anthracite for the Hyper Orange Package (like you mentioned) and the M-Sport package. Like before, the headliner for non-M and non-Hyper Orange will remain white. Thanks for the clarification.

The 293 wheels - as pictured on my car, are not available - the stock wheels are the 515 - 5 spoke - I took them off - sold them, and bought the 293s, as I had on my 2009, but this time put on Michilin Pilots- and bought the Mobility Tire Kit - (repair kit - for 156 bucks, which has a glue like substance, you take out the valve stem - squeeze in the gooop - then install the valve stem again - and use the pump and tire pressure guage they supply with the kit - to pump up the tire - it works of a power point - or Cigarette lighter - in fact my car did come with an Ash Tray and folding cover, where it used to be just a well for things with no cover !

An expensive change from the 515 wheels and run flats- but what a ride with the Michilins - and also the look of the 293 turbine type wheels ! Now i go to a car wash to clean the wheels- a lot to clean !

Tell me, what's the pint of the front number plate? Looks just like advertising for the dealer?
Either way its too high!

Had it for 3yrs in my E90. Sweating isn't any worse than in my wife's current E90 with leather and passengers couldn't tell it was vinyl. No real downsides other than lack of color choice IMHO

I love the color and stitching inside. I don't understand why BMW would not give an option to go full aluminum metal on full black wood inside.

Just like the 293 Rims - they are still in production and available for the 2013 models- but could not be substituted for the 515 stock wheels on the 2014- so I had to replace and order thru my dealer- have the TPS sensors removed and put in the new rims- then replace with Michilens Pilots - again a good idea- which I followed from many saying to do that here

About the RENT being TO DAM HIGH - (license plate) - its where the Dealer put it - and it has the dealer ad there untill the New Jersey plate gets here !

Phil

wood package near door handles like I had on my 2009 and near the shifter, were not available -

I'm not a 'sweat'er, so I'm ok w/ whatever material. It's just hard to look at myself in the mirror if I have to go w/ vinyl, even if it looks like leather(?) LOL. Heck, when I bought a sofa, there was an option to have the 'hidden' panels (i.e. backside) in fake leather, but I wouldn't be able to live w/ myself. (just my personal taste; no offence intended)

I like this relatively new (well, not really, but newer compared to old setups) of alcantara/leather: luxury+practicality. Seems like the way to go (or maybe full alcantara if it looks nice).

OP, those seats look amazing, love that racing stripe on them.

Could you have opted to not have the dealer install the front plate?

If you regret it, there are always these. Not too expensive and a viable alternative to a patch & respray.

Congrats on your new car. One question - does the auto start stop feature work? I just picked up my 2014 Z4 in black and red interior and don't think the auto start stop works. Thank you!

I think auto start stop is 20i/28i only. If you have it the button is next to the engine start button.
