No one can answer this question but you. If you don't care about heated seats, don't get them. If Nav isn't required, don't order it. Its all about what YOU like / want. Personally, I insisted on heated seats. That was my only 'have to have'. I always get all of my cars with them. I ended up with a 'fully' loaded one, which I also appreciate.

Depends on what your budget is and whether you want little features to play with. I'd call M-sport, premium sound and heated seats a necessity though.

I was just going for "all I need and nothing else" but you could delete the M Sport and just go Sport or forget the sport packages all together to save more money. Premium Sound and Heated Seats are a must in my book for the Z and any convertible.

That being said, my wife's Z has almost all options for 2010 models. I could live without all but for the Premium Sound, Heated Seats, and maybe Sport package as you get the upgraded seats on the US models. If I could simply upgrade the seats without the bigger wheels and adaptive suspension that would be fine.

What I have and I think is a must
- NAV
- Heated Seats

What I wish I have
- auto dimming rear view mirror (i think it's part of premium package)
- memory seats (part of premium package)
- premium sound (standard sound is bad)

What I'm really glad is that I got the Z4. love it!

All you are going to get for responses are the things each one of us ordered based on our unique wants/needs.

Some will go so far as to tell you you have to have all the same options they got.

You are better off reviewing all the packages/options/accessories yourself and selecting what is right for you.

Whatever you do, don't get the DVD changer or BMW apps.

Depends on your height ... I am 6' and the sports seats with thigh support make a tremendous difference ... No fatigue whatsoever on long road drives or bumper to bumper commutes with my 6MT.
I agree with other posts - sample every Z4 that your client advisor can show you to get a feel for the options available!

I personally would prioritize the 8spd sport automatic gearbox, adaptive m suspension, sports seat and staggered wheels with 255 width in the rear (ideally on a 17" diameter wheel). I would be ok with a car that just had those options

Two features that I wouldn't have gotten if I ordered from the factory, but now I am glad I got is the auto dimming mirror and the ambiance lighting package.

Also, for what it is worth, I would also recommend getting the 35i or 35is if possible, and go light on options if needed to get the bigger motor.

In Poland, I'd get the heated seats and heated steering wheel for certain.

Really? I use the BMW apps every day in my Z4 and really disappointed I didn't get it in my 335i. The feature of BMW apps I appreciate the most is how it integrates with Pandora, and gives you album graphics and control via idrive. Sure, you can still use Pandora without BMW apps, but it doesn't integrate nearly as well. With BMW apps, I will not be renewing Sirius.

They just need to have the iPhone app be able to be running in the background at all times, so one does not have to launch it before every use. Also text messages should be integrated. Emails as well. Better pandora integration alone is not enough to warrant an option called BMW apps. But I'm glad it's become a routinely used feature for you. Although I never use BMW apps and while it was a tiny expense, it was a waste. If they add apps and make it more effortless to use, I will definitely start using it.

When I had an E90 I went with the 328 instead of the 335 so I can certainly appreciate what you are saying about the extra horsepower.

I hope you're able to make peace with the decision soon, because the Z4 28 is a great car. I realized after a while that I was really wasting my own time (and dragging down my wife also!) by regretting my decision to get the 328 rather than 335 instead of just enjoying having a new BMW.

Don't get me wrong, I love the car. It's one of the first roadsters i have driven for over a month. I just regret not getting the 3.5i due to the DCT transmission and the aftermarket capabilities. It's hard to make peace with that decision sometimes and i just wanna kick myself for not going the extra mile for the 3.5i.
