10/7/09 Update: Car is on "Aida" vessel current position is near Cuba heading towards the Panama Canal to stop in Munzunillo, Panama on 10/8/09, then final Arrival in Oxnard, CA 10/16/09. Not sure how long it stays at the processing center in Oxnard? Maybe another 5 days until it reaches my dealership. Getting closer!!

10/25/09 Car arrived, picked it up, and I am now content.

Your dealer is full-of-it on European Delivery times; we ordered ours July 16, 2009 from a Texas dealer and picked it up in Munich at the Welt on August 17, 2009 (yes, an honest to goodness 31 day turn around). I think they just didn't want the 7% discount headache plus it does not "count" as a unit sold from the dealer towards dealer incentives (so I am told by dealer people) since it is almost a Manufacturer wholesale deal. Regardless, great choices on the car order - beautiful colors and I also ordered almost all options but for navigation (we did order the DCT b/c it is my wife's car and that is what she wanted). You will love it as it is, IMO, the perfect blend of comfort, fun, technology, and sportiness. Way to go on the Sport Package and 19"s - the only way to go; plus, the base level sound system is terrible - you will be glad you have the Premium Sound as it is very very good for factory equipment.

So when do you expect to get your car after you did the Euro Delivery? I bet it must have been well worth the trip. I've never been to Europe and always wanted to, but for some reason I kept getting the "it takes to long". I guess I could be more patient and should have just went for it. The dealer was also trying to get me to stay away from manual. They were worried incase I back out of the deal they would be stuck with something they consider hard to sell, not only because it is a manual but they told White and Red is not popular colors unlike silver gray and blacks. But I could hardly wait and hope it really does get here at end of October as they stated.

At the drop-off location in Munich, after a Munich-Salzburg-Hallstatt-Vienna-Prague-Munich trip for 9 days (incredible and we will do it again but next time focus on Switzerland and Germany), the shipping service that gets it to port in Northern Germany said 6 weeks to our door/dealer. So, 4 weeks to go and killing us. You should go to Europe, almost everyone we met was incredibly nice, especially those in Munich and Prague. I love your color combination and I have seen it in person. The manual will be great and if it were my primary car I would have seriously considered a manual - but it is my wife's car. I just ordered a X5 35d this week for the 2010 assembly about to start back up in South Carolina. I seriously thought about waiting for the new 5 series next year with diesel but I too cannot wait that long. We will definitely do the Euro delivery again as it was just amazing start to finish.

Hey Guys,

New to this site, as I have only just ordered my 23i last week. Unfortunately there has not even been a build number allocated to my order yet so no word on a delivery date, this is killing me! can't wait to get in and drive it (if anyone else was in the same situation would appreciate an approximation of delivery date?)

Insurance is going to kill me though ha ha, anyone get cheap insurance in the uk if so who with?

Enjoyed looking at all you pics guys they all look amazing just cant wait to get mine now!!

Irregardless of equipment levels, the new Z4 is a great car. Great looking, fun to drive, and causes a big smile everytime I drop the top and enjoy a drive in nice weather.

Great color combo, but I'm biased, as I have the same.

Took delivery off of the lot on Aug 26. Deal was TOO good to turn down for turning in '07 335i 90 days early and saw this Z4 in stock - drove it, fell in love, took it away the next day.

Yours must be on the same Vessel as mine as I notice that the Aida Vessel left port on 9/23/09 and then stopped in Belgium on 9/24. So yours must have just gotten of the boat and on its way to your dealership. I don't expect Aida to arrive until 10/16/09 in Southern California. It has 3 more stops to go. We don't do paper work here until car arrives and test driven and inspected. Then the negotiation on price starts, then paper work.

His car isn't on the Aida btw... All BMW's are transported by rail from Germany to Belgium and they all are imported via Genk for customs, from there they leave by truck to the different dealers.

The reason why the boat makes a stop at Zeebrugge is to pick up cars that are manufactured in Belgium for the Britisch Isles and probably for the States...

I guess I stand corrected. But I'm glad mine is on the way. It left United Kingdom yesterday. 3 more long stops to go.
