It app isn't just for the F8X M3/M4
That app works with all 2012 and later F30 3er with the correct options (i.e. tech package, or BMW apps/navigation system) plus a wifi enabled go pro to connect to the iphone (which is also connected to the car via usb cable or snap in adapter) |

The app also works on my E89. The only thing it doesn't support is the preview image/video.
