I think I would still rather wait until I have enough moolah for the 458 Spider though.
If you think your hardtop vert is creaky - don't ever try a soft top. My top is quiet across the temp extremes, maybe I lucked out.

+1 on the 458 Spyder it is a hot car! Then again I'd never be able to use it as a daily driver as I do the Z4. Ferrari's are high maint, low mileage vehicles for the Über rich or those posers. I'd probably be too paranoid to do more than weekend driving and then really what fun is that. Maybe if I hit the Lotto and have a pile of extra cash.

had more creaks and rattles with hard tops than in my box, but be aware that most roadsters will suffer rattles from the top.
anyway, had z4 and bolxster and porsche is way better to drive than the bimmer. it costs more through... if I had to choose regardless of cost considerations, would opt for the new one who is really gorgeous.

I would not go Cayman/Boxter. Russian mentality suggests all of us that Boxter/Cayman are the lowest and cheapest Porsche you can get. In Russian words - it's not Porsche.

Z4 is an awesome car. I really like it, but not the way it comes from the factory. After certain modifications such as JB4, KW coilovers, exhaust and Rims change, it feels like it should.
I would never trade it for boxter.

as a former porsche owner i have been a member of the PCA for 10 years,i'd went to carshow, autocross event, ride, porsche parade, and the Boxter as always been seen as the "poorman" Porsche.

A poor man's Porsche??? That is probably true as I would rather own a 911, but despite the perception or label, the Boxster is still one awesome driving machine. I priced out a new Boxster S with a few options and MT, it was $77k!!!!! At that price, you might as well save a little and buy a "stripped down" 911 at about $92k (IMO).

..and the 911 S is the poor man's Ferrari 599GTO. The Ferrari 599GTO is the poor man's Bugatti Veyron, and then its stops there.

I always think about emigrating when I see your prices...

Here a Boxster is $130K and the cheapest 911 is $223K, before options!

a new loaded out 911S will run about $120k here - good ole USA

and btw, I am not saying it is a "poor man's 911," I just recognize many consider it to be one - I truly still think fondly of my 2000 Boxster as one of the best cars I have ever owned and would love a new one!
