2018 Audi S3 P+ as a daily?

I'm considering adding an Audi S3 P+ to the fleet as a daily. I love the exterior design, the size, digital cockpit and super sports seats. Anyone have experience with a S3 as a daily?

Or spend the extra $10k and get the RS3 that will hold its value much better.

I’ve posted this before. If buying new, consider the Golf R. If buying used buy the S3. The Golf R seems to hold value much better. It’s very easy to find a $50k S3 used for around $30k. Unless the Golf R VII is beat up, it starts out at about $40k and still costs about $30k used.

Excellent car... great magride suspension for daily duties as well as a solid DCT... people keep saying Golf r this and that but the R is a boy racer hatch that not everyone wants. Consider a 2017 CPO under 40k and u will have a deal, its a real solid car... as long as u can handle the slightly laggy 4 banger.

We have a 2017 S3 on lease for my wife as a daily. It is a great all rounder and a joy to drive. Consider getting the resonator delete option - greatly improves sound. The '18's are better on the highway as they moved to seven speed DCT with taller top gear.

how is the R "boy racer"? its very understated, most would say bland compared to sport compacts like the Focus RS, Civic Type R, STI or even 2 series BMW.

It isn't any flashier than an S3, actually less sporty.

I mean if you're going that route save another $10k and get a GTI. That's the best DD for the $ out there.

Both aren't true in real life - I just shopped all 3 (Golf R, S3, and RS3). Dealers aren't willing to deal much on the Golf R and you're lucky to be able to get the RS3 at sticker. Dealers are much willing to deal on an S3.

So...In real life, the price difference between a Golf R and a nearly loaded S3 is closer to about $5K and I'm willing to pay that $5K premium for the S3 with Virtual Cockpit and Mag ride.

Also, the price difference between an S3 and an RS3 in real life is much closer than $17K - $20K than what's indicated on paper ($10K). If it was only $10K difference, there's no question I would have gotten the RS3.

With the heavy discount on the S3, it's no question that it's the best value. We owned the S3 for about 7 months now and love it as a daily, especially with the Mag Ride - set it to comfort for daily and Dynamic for canyons...best of both worlds

What do they lease for? I was looking at leasing an RS3, but rates are insanely high.

Kind of. VW's doesn't have Google Earth, isn't as configurable and seems much laggier than Audi's.

One thing I would point out... if you do decide on the sport seats; remember that they are only manually adjustable outside of lumbar. No idea why Audi did that; however, they do come with much nicer leather than the standard seats. The tech pack w the B&O is a must and the black optics adds a nice touch...

You are correct, leasing is high on A3, S3 and RS3. I am paying in $7xx without anything down and my build was around $53K.

RS3 is limited at the moment and its full of packages. So you will find RS3 in mid $60K to upper $60K. MSRP on RS3 is $55K but you won't find any at this price point unless you order from factory which will take 3-5 months.

You certainly win at getting awful lease quotes.

as others saids just get a CPO S3. Audi's leases are crap. Some of the lease numbers my audi dealer gave me for a regular S3 (non-RS3) version were almost the same as M4 numbers.
