Non OEM wheels.. what do you think?

Considering some new wheels.

Albeit I've spent a bomb on new RFTs for the front of my car. I can't help but wonder what it would be like on non RFTs so I'm considering a new wheel/tyre combo to improve the ride and avoid cracks (hopefully).

I've had the design placed onto an image for my consideration... what do you think?

My car is not an M Sport therefore I feel more elegant wheels (rather than sporty) are a good choice.

cant see it. the twin spoke optional 19s are great OME. If mine didnt have them I would go for 19 CSL replicas.

I'm not a fan of the CSL's on the e89, nothing personal, but I just don't like them very much. The 326 OEMs are nice, but very expensive and really better suit the M Sport I think.

The hing i like about these is that when you are driving at speed the car next to you only sees a vortex as the rim. looks like a tornado sideways is holding up the tire. Just my observation from driving next to vehicle with them.

My pick would be a set of lightweight Volk wheels

I like those wheels, I think the car just needs a slight drop to improve it's stance. So far we've not had any wheel crack issues since we've switched to non-RFTs, the ride is definitely improved even with an Eibach pro-kit fitted.

I'm due to be up in Manchester early Feb. so can potentially let you have a quick drive to compare the ride to the standard setup.

Now that would be appreciated... I'm regretting investing in RFTs with all the issues. TBH I'd love to keep the 296's as I think they look great (esp the diamond cut face, when the sun hits it) but the ride is still tough with the Pirelli replacements. I know I'll lose money if I sell them on (they've only a few thousand miles on the rear and a few hundred on the front) but I'll take that if it makes a difference going to non RFTs. BMW scared me off by telling me changing to non RFTs could invalidate suspension component warranty. I've since spoken to the dealer and he feels differently. ARG.

I'll drop you a PM once I know the dates I'll be up in Manchester and we'll see if we can arrange a convenient time to meet up.
