Closing roof using remote

Can anyone help. Probably stupid but I can open the roof using the remote but cannot close it. Is this a setting thing. Using the lock button to try but no joy?

Even if you keep holding the lock button?

Should be able to hold the lock button and as you hold it, the windows will close, then if you keep holding it, the sunroof will close. Similar to unlocking.

Make sure you are standing close enough to the car, and sometimes even in a particular spot. For example, I need to stand near the rear quarter panel for it to work.

Do you have comfort access?

Correct me if i'm wrong but from what i heard, only comfort access lets you close the top using your remote...

It's a Z4- no sunroof. With comfort access, when you hold down the roundel button the rear deck will open, the roof and rear window come up, the rear deck lowers and then the rear window lowers into place. Only then will the windows come up.

Tom,

If you have comfort access you can open and close the roof with the remote when you are outside the car. On UK spec cars without comfort access you can open the roof with the remote from outside the car but you cannot close it. You need to press the button on the dash to close it when inside the car. However, if you get out of the car and forget to close the roof you can do this with the key (from the remote) in the driver's door.

Strange, the better half's car doesn't have comfort access but the roof can be opened and closed by remote.
Was a Jan 2010 build if it makes any difference.
