Anybody running 275/30/19 in the rear?

I'm getting ready to order new tires to ditch the RFTs. Wondering if I can get away with 275/30/19 on Style 296 rims with stock adaptive m suspension. I think the rims are plenty wide just don't want any rubbing on the inside or the fender. I've searched the forum, but didn't find any real hard data. Memphis1 suggested in one thread that one 'might' be able to get away with 275. I know 265 will fit for sure, but I'd like to go 275 for the additional sidewall height it would give me.

I am running 285/25/20 in the rear and no rubbing at all. I think I can run 295s in the rear if I really wanted to

My 265's will finally be mounted next week and I will measure the inside/outside clearance.

yes - I switched my wife's RFTs out to Continental Extreme Contact DWs a couple of weeks ago. the rear is a 275/30/19 and there are no problems. these tires are 3 times better than the RFTs they replaced.

now, if BMW would just put real tires on their cars, many of these comparison test with other brands would turn out differently

Vintage BMW: What are you running on the fronts?
Do you have the adaptive suspension also (about 10 mm lower)?

The fronts are on nationwide back order. Continental isn't even giving out a production date at this point. Estimated wait at least 8 weeks. That would put me at the end of November. Don't really want to drive on summer rubber that long. Would it be a really bad idea to go with 225 up front and 275 for the rears? The rears are at the tire shop ready to be mounted today. It's just the fronts that are the issue. Even for the 225 there are only 8 tires in the entire country right now. Grrrr, what to do what to do.
