Need Advice on aFe intake

I have a 2011 Z4 35is... Want to upgrade the air intake. Does anyone know if the aFe 54-82002 closed box intake actually fits? I can't seem to get a clear answer. Is anyone using the aFe 54-11472 open box? Is there any issue with engine heat with that set up? Is it loud? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm upgrading intake, FMIC, and charge pipe and then having the care tuned. Thanks!

I have aFe 54-11472 from november 2016. Because I'm not using Z4 in winter time, I cannot tell you my final resume. Intake looks and sounds great. Car is more responsive on the throttle.

This 54-82002 will fit, Ive seen it a Z4 before, but dont know if there was anything that needed slight alteration for fitment.

If your gonna run this 54-11472 then remove the suction/duct snorkel snout. Well thats if you dont care how it looks off.

The 54-11472 fits well, the heat shield seals off agains the hood insulation.

That said both 54-11472 and 82002 feel pretty flimsy, and BQ is right about the snorkel.

I plan on adding a custom snorkel and wrapping the base in gold heat tape.
