What happened to my Lights????
The "Inner" Headlight position is, as you know 'empty'...just the "Angel-Eye" surround.
Lurking within are very expensive looking projector lenses, but no lights/lamps behind. Xenons lights are hyped to be the 'biz'. Without seeming churlish, on the Z4 the 'outer' Xenons are good, but not quite the amazing product I'd expected....... Anyone know what the purpose of these 'blank' units is? Is it solely to 'exist' as part of the "Angel-eye-pair"? Clearly I am in the dark here.............. |

I have the same 'looking' convex glob on my motobike and it just operates as the normal beam light. The outer ones i would have thought are the high beams.
which lights light up on normal beam then? |

Just puzzled as to why BMW bothered to put an expensive projector lens inside the unit when it's never going to be used???? Also, the Z4 has NO front fog lights! NO fog lights Never heard of such a thing! |

Its in good company though. The 135i or M cars don't have fogs, although I think the area where the fogs should be are basically an open grill to allow air to get through. On the Z4 the area where the fogs should be is sealed.

Well... we now know where there is an empty spot that we could wire in fog lights....

I just did a nice trip in the Z4 to the Wheeling area. I was pleased with the comfort after an 8 hour trip.

Mod
So..................
Now we need an ace to come up with a 'lighting' mod to 'fit' something in these positions Extra filament to light up on high/main beam perhaps? |

Fogs are best low to the ground so they light up the road surface rather than shine into the fog itself.
It there a way to mount a light in the fixture, or is it blanked off in back of the lens? |

Maybe that's why the middle projectors are empty, to put your own lighting if needed as an option?
