Newbie at Data Logging Cobb OTS E30 Tune. Little help?
Edit post #2. answered my own question with the help of our 335i brothers.
Hey guys I've been data logging our 2011 Z4 35i on Cobb's OTS E30 map. Current mods on the car: Muffler Delete Secondary cats deleted (2) Vibrant 1791 resonators VRSF Catless Down pipes VRSF 7" intercooler BMS DCI VVT Turbo inlets H&R Springs Factory 19s powder coated Nitto NT05 Tires (275 rears, 255 fronts) Here is a data log I ran in a 2nd gear run. I have 7 gallons of E85 and the rest with 93 (e10), should be running a E48 mix. Figured with our bigger fuel pumps, better safe then sorry, unless running this mix on the OTS e30 map is making the HPFP work too hard. http://www.datazap.me/u/tandr/log-14...=0&data=3-8-11 those who know about tuning, can you put in your 2 cents? I feel from I've begin to understand especially from posts from Buraq that my timing and what not looks awesome, my boost is dialing back a little too much and my HPFP is dropping too much. 760psi at like 6k. Which is too low. Do I need to dial back my E mix because I'm running the OTS E30 map? Any input/knowledgable input is greatly appreciated! Plan on doing a E60-ish dyno tune next month to hopefully get around 450whp. Here's a few pics of the car Last edited by TandR; 12-26-2015 at 11:51 PM.. |

Guess I can answer my own question here. I was running a e48 blend and added 4 more gallons of 93 to get around a e36 blend. HPFP looks so much better now.
If anyone has some good input, feel free to chime in! http://datazap.me/u/tandr/log-145119...og=0&data=1-11 |

The COBB OTS maps are not tuned to run more than E30 fuel. The fuel system tuning is relatively still stock other than the scalars being upped to support the fuel type ie E30.
Example of E70 fuel on an E89 Z4 : http://datazap.me/u/buraq/log-145031...-20-21&mark=48 I am pushing about 500 whp / 550 wtq Another thing, you are having post shift delays. COBB OTS maps v403 were uniformed to remedy the problem 6AT cars were having which had a horrible impact on post shifts with DCT cars. This can lead to clutch slippage and overheating of the DCT. Too much wastegate oscillation down low, I know that can be felt. If you want a custom tune shoot an email to wedgeperformance@gmail.com . Ken will get you setup before handing your stuff over to me to begin tuning as I deal strictly with tuning cars on COBB but I also tune on MHD ONLY for FBO 1M/ 335is/ E89 Z4/ N54 DCT cars Love the setup of your car and would love to tune it for you. I was thinking in the long run to do a matte or frozen black on our Z4 |

BuraQ, Thanks for replying. I know you know more about ethanol and the Z's fuel then anyone here. I noticed the DCT does shift slower sometimes and it doesn't seem like all the power comes back on instantly but takes a second. Is this because there is no back end flash with the cobb's OTS maps?
Yeah I can def feel waste gate oscillation, I'm assuming that can be fixed with a dyno tune? Do you have plans to push your Z past E70? Do you think Running full E85 is an option on the stock fuel platform? I was going to have Anthony at AV Engineering Tune our Z next month. I've been waiting to see what results you've found. So your running about 11.5-12 gallons E85 and then then the rest 93? |
