All Season Tires

Tire Rack now has both the Continental DWS and the Yokohama ENVigor high performance all season tires in stock in the OEM 18" sizes.

Cost is $688 and $608 respectively for a set of 4 without shipping.

I am running the Yokos and am very happy with their performance. The Contis are getting excellent ratings.

I may be driving my 04 Z4 through a Minnesota winter this year. Any recommendations for a good set of winter/snow tires?

I don't have any personal experience with dedicated snow tires but I highly recommend the Tire Rack website for unedited reviews and surveys from thousands of customers.

I've been very happy with Bridgestone Blizzak LM25's on a similarly powered RWD car.

Almost kinda related, but not too far off topic and may be of interest for folks considering ED in the next few months:

A new supplement to the STVO regulation [Paragraph 2, Subparagraph 3a, Strassenverkehrsordnung StVO] does not force the use of winter tires. According to the road and weather conditions, a good summer tire with sufficient thread or an all season tire is good enough for driving in winter when the roads are not icy or snow covered. But that’s not new. What is new is that you now get a ticket if driving on winter roads with the “wrong” tire.
• 20 Euros fine if driving on winter roads with the wrong tires if not blocking traffic flow or causing accidents.
• 40 Euros fine if driving on winter roads with wrong tires and blocking traffic flow and/or causing accidents.

Winter Roads are those covered with snow or ice, any depth
Wrong Tires are those not Designated as Snow Tires, must have the M+S designtion, and if you are going near the Mountains the tire must have the "mountain/snowflake symbol" which I believe will be required between 15 Dec & 15 Mar in Quebec in the next few years
