Great Trickle Battery Charger
I watch here and then Dream Car Garage. In the last program the boys mentioned the CTEK Trickle Battery Charger.
Some of the great qualities it has it is also a surge protector (we all know how quickly the most costly computer under our hood can be damaged during boosting or charging). Another quality that I like it only provides as much power as is missing in your battery, this then protects your battery from being damaged. The host from Dream Car Garage mentioned that some people even build the charger right into the car. He went on further that they normally do not mention products on the air however, they were so impressed that they made an exception. Anyway I just like to pass it on and wondrd if any of you fellows have heard about it? Input voltage AC: 100–120VAC, 50–60Hz, output power is reduced at lower input voltage Output voltage: Nominal:12V Efficiency: HIGH 85% Charging voltage: 14.4V/14.7V Charging current: 7A max Back current drain*: <1mAh per month Ripple**: ~4% Ambient temperature: -4°F to +122°F, output power is reduced automatically at higher temperatures Type of charger: 8–step, fully automatic switch mode with float pulse/maintenance Type of batteries: 12V lead-acid batteries (Wet, MF, AGM and most GEL) Battery capacity: 14?150Ah (charging) 14–225Ah (maintenance) Dimensions (L x W x H): 8.5" x 3.5" x 1 7/8" (inches) Insulation class: IP65 (splash and dust proof) Weight: 1.7lbs Photo below ....

Hey Rolf CTEK are indeed very reputable...Porsche , Benz etc use them as standard/optional equipment.
I got this one here: http://www.batteriesdirect.com.au/sh...71/xs4003.html The XS4003 has all the major features of the 7000 like the 8 step but costs a lot less. It works well. |

highly recommended ! I used it a couple of times when I travelled for 1 month or 3 weeks of holidays. All features help to put my mind at rest and it truly is value for money. Bought mine from ebay.
