According to Autoblog, looks like they’ll put the indicator on the side view mirrors for the facelift so the fender would look cleaner on the LCI?
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/23/b...-tuck-spotted/

Quote:
For its mid-cycle enhancement, BMW will be incorporating the side indicators into the mirrors, and the camouflage at the fore and aft light clusters suggests that some new lamps will be incorporated into the design.
They also assume it'll have a more square angel eyes like they do on the new F30, in which case I do prefer the current round one we have now.

I have to say that whenever I see the facelifted e85 on the road it always makes me cringe. The rear lights were much nicer in the original iteration. I'm hoping I'll feel just as good about my 2012 e89 when the 2013 is revealed.

I like the darker surrounds with only the silver horizontal sliver - simple improvement that really adds up to better looks; I always hated the silver surround on the bottom of the front air dam.

I can't believe BMW is still using the infamous cracking 296 wheels...

I can't believe they're still using the prematurely wearing sprayed leather, peeling interior plastic, chip-prone orange peel paint, soft windshields that look sandblasted after 2-3 years...

If Australia is any indication, it will continue.
They discontinued the 35i here and now you can only buy the 20i, 28i or the full blown N54 35iS. It is now a big price jump to get from the 28i to the 35iS.
I doubt they would do that only months before they make the 35iS unavailable or more expensive (by reinventing it as a M35i which would be sure to cost even more)

Given they kept the 296 style and changed the rim interior design, I dont see why they cant still use them. They look good. Its not like they sell the original rim design that everyone had so much trouble with anymore. The new ones just look the same from the outside...
Sanity check: Has anyone who has had one replaced with the new design had a crack with the "new 296" wheels?
I dont think so or we would have heard about it by now.

Interesting. I strongly doubt that is a good predictor of what will happen in the US though. I just cannot see them discontinuing the 35i model here.

For the 35is I wasn't just questioning whether it will stay, but also if it will continue with the N54 or switch to the N55. Sounds like the former for now.

It will still be interesting to see what they do with the 35is once the 335is coupe/convertible exit the lineup next year. At that time the Z4 35is will become the only N54-powered model left on the market (assuming the 35i switches to the N55). It seems unlikely that it will continue with that engine through the end of it's run which will go until 2015 or so.

And if they improve the halo rings - I'll stump up for a pair!

I've experienced absolutely none of these issues with my Z4.

me neither, but I have had some issues (HPFP to name one); plus I live in sunny and dry Texas and that is pretty easy on cars as long as you park in a garage or some form of covered parking to protect the car from the blistering sun May-September

Give it some time. They all started to appear on the E9x after a couple of years.

Either that or BMW changed their materials and found solutions to these issues - in that case I will gladly eat my words.

yea, that the only thing, but that not really a design change. its the same as people opt for LUX or similar for the current models

I was perfectly happy with them until I took delivery of the new X3. Its new halos are very white and bright. In the garage it makes my Z4 halos look tired and yellow.

If the Z4 LCI halos are as good as the X3 ones, which they shoudl be, I want them.

What if they make it like the F30 halos with the top and bottom flat instead of a full circle like the current Z4?

Then I might cry.

Seriously though, looking at the last close up shot of the headlights, I dont think they have changed the vertical placement of the halos, and you can see almost all of the round inner halo...
I dont think that is what is shown in the shot at least.

My money is on it being some cosmetic change to the inner plastics of the light housing, and brighter / whiter halos...

I've had the car 3 years. I'm going to predict that I'm out of the woods on this stuff.
