How do we go about the redesigning the Z4?
Easy. We'll slap on some E90 headlights and bulge the hood a bit. Hows that look? Perfect! bahahaha

I like how they made Z3-ish gills...out of body lines
Genius!

I personally draw more parallels between GINA and the first Z4 regarding the front bumper valence and the character lines. GINA is very close to Anders Warming's original sketch. It seems they've gone back to a Z3 style hood opening as it's lines cut into the fenders. The extension of the A pillar character line (hence the "Z") is a pure design element and while a bit ostentatious, clever imho. Can someone post up a side by side of the e85 same angle and this pic? I think the E85 seems a bit more reconcilled in the front.

E89 Z4
I agree the car looks good but I agree with other fellow members that these 2 pictures dont do justice to the ovear all look of the car, we need more pics with no obstacles in between. Here are my impressoins:
1. Honostly from the side profile, I see the same flame surfacing and sharp lines as 06-08 models (which I like) and it almost looks exactly the same, I really dont see any toning down of the "flame surfacing" but thats just me. 2. I am not sure If I like the "bulge" in the hood, from some angels it just makes the car looks weird but again If I see it in person I might have a different perspective 3. If you guys have noticed the wheels are exactly like 06=08 models non sport pkg. ones.... almost the same. 4. I like the metallic looking grills, headlights are ok but I was hoping they would make them more clear from inside not blackened like they are now but this could be base model. 5. I agree that we need more pics and we must see this thing in person to make a better judgement. |

Front Bumper
again I couldnt resist agreeing with one of the fellow posters here that they should have made the front bumper more agressive. Taking out the two "shark like" fendes on either side of the bumper, it makes it look like the 03-05 model in a way. Look at pictures and think about it. I also dont understand why they put these two "shark like" fenders on eithe side, I think they look stupid, why not foglights instead like on my 07 Z4?
Check out the front bumper of a 2009 SLK, it actually looks much more sharper and agressive than Z4, kind of sad! http://www.thetorquereport.com/2009_...ss_image_8.jpg LOL, I dont know, maybe these are not good pics but some time the car looked better with the black and white camafluge it had than these pics, but will see. |

I don't think there's a BULGE in the hood. It looks like the reflection is darker there. None of the test cars had the bulge. The picture is playing tricks on you. |

If it is light (3,000 lbs.) with the N54 it will rock.
I'm waiting on little brother -- Z2 M -- 2,300 lbs 4 cyl 272 hp turbo.

Looks like perfection to me, its a great mix of the current Z4 with some GINA and even Z3 thrown into the pot to make a true roadster with 'shark' intentions. So far, my favorite part has to be the side grills. I like these razor sharp and tight gills as opposite to the somewhat large and swoopy ones on the current E90/E92 M3s
Overall the car has a great flow to it, and remeber we are seeing a base model car here. With an upgraded aero/sport kit and a closed up wheel gap this will look like a near exotic vehicle IMO |

Yes Yes Yes
LOVE IT!!
Classic roadster looks FTW.. This definately looks more like what the follow up to the Z3 should have been. Way to go BMW.. For those who love the Z4, but do not like this.. welcome to the shock we Z3 owners had to endure in 2003.. If this is any indication of what the Z2 will look like.. I am first in line! |
