Put the Blizzaks on

Took the Z for a drive after swapping the stock RFTs for Blizzak LM60s. 255 40 18 rear at 46 psi and 235 45 18 in front at 39 psi.

Haven't had any snow yet, but cold temps and very wet conditions. Not fun driving on the wet. Have to be very cautious with the throttle, or the little yellow fun light comes on and things slip around.

So far, things were better with the stocks, so I hope when things get below 40 and we get snow, we'll be much bettter off.

I haven't used those tires specifically but those air pressures seem really high. At the risk of stating the obvious, if you overinflate the tire there is less rubber making contact with the road and you will have less traction

How about trying 36psi front / 42psi rear?

That's the ratings on the door jam for the 35is. Seemed high to me. And, it is lower than the max tire pressure on the sidewall.

One thing to check on if you haven't already is the table in the owner's manual that has pressures for various tire size/type and load combinations. Might be able to find something that works a bit better.

handling aside, how do you find the ride comfort compared to the RFT's?

then again with those pressures it will be hard anyway

Wife took it to work today and did not like it at all. Way too squirrely above 30 mph. Very wet conditions in western WA. I'm going to drop the pressure about 5# in each tire tonight.

Welp, that didn't help at all. I drove it again tonight and hit the throttle. The car would have crossed the yellow line on my left if I wasn't holding on. So, I let og of the wheel and she tracked fine, hit the gas, slightly, and to the left she went. Let off the gas and to the right she drifted. I recall reading something about this in another Z, so time to search.
