ok - installed.

couple notes:

1: easiest bulb install ever. 5 minute job. FAR more room to work than there was in my E92 335

2: the driver's side "second" halo was initially almost totally unlit. removed the bulb, turned it and reinstalled. that fixed it.

3: if having the two halos lit unevenly is a dealbreaker - these are not for you. the inner halo is significantly brighter than the outer - especially close up. its better the further away you get

4: they are very white. perfect color.

5: no dimming noticed with headlights on

6: initial impressions: very happy with them for what I paid and ease of installation

here are a couple of pics. literally just installed these and took the pics so no direct sun pics yet. I wouldn't normally take photos of my car when its this dirty, but I wanted to go ahead and get them up.

and with headlights on:

Looks good.

One way of looking at the inner halo being brighter is that it will look more balanced when the headlight is on.

However, the inner halo does look super bright from the far away pics, almost like the headlights are on.

It's a good, cheaper alternative though, while it's on sale. For regular price, the LUX might be better. Do you know when that price will last?

And thanks for sharing. Always good to see new options.

yup. I should also note that I didnt play with any photoshop games etc.

and the inner lens washed/flared out a bit in the photos making it look brighter than it is in person.

a lot of the pictures out there appear to be taken from far away with zoom lenses to even out the two halos. I did not do that - just used a regular lens and was fairly close (maybe about a carlength). they do even out the further away you get.

no idea on the price question

How are they at night? Brighter or the same brightness as the halogens? Might drop by to pick up a set this weekend when I visit LA.

Brighter than halogens and it doesn't darken when the low beams are on.

Had mine installed few days ago too, I've fairly happy with the result. The inner ring is quite a bit brighter than the outer, but the color is very white. It's dimmer when the engine is turned off, and goes bright with the engine on.

Haven't seen a direct side by side in real life of the LUX and BMS, but the only thing significantly brighter than this is HID or the new OEM bulbs on those new BMWs. those are ridiculously bright even in day time. and looks dead even inner and out.

verdict- I'm happy with mine. good price good quality.

Not only the OEM Bulbs are new, the whole light emitting system is a complete redesign! So even if the new "bulbs" (LED now) would fit you still would not have the same Lightoutput.

Do these bulbs still fade in and out when unlocking/locking the car or do they just 'pop' to full brightness at the end of the fade in for example?

I actually ordered this already but it was on back order and after looking at some installed pics, decided to cancel the order. I just didn't like how much brighter the inner halo is compared to the outer. You can't even tell the inner halo has a halo, it looks like the low beams so I decided to pass until I can see it in person myself.

I am tempted by the MTEC LEDs - expensive but so's this car. They are around $100 more than the BMS, but if noticeably better then it's worth it imo.

Do you need to use double sided tape or something to hold the ballasts down inside the lens or just leave them dangle freely?

There is no dangling. There is enough wiring for the ballast to rest on the bottom.

Just installed mine last night. Looks great. Everybody have different expectations for the money they have to spend. The pictures in this link is right on. I'd recommend these for the price......and I'm not affiliated with BMS.

Installed these and happy with the result.

Had to flip one of the rubber seals around on the LED as the LED did not fit snugly.

I can also confirm that the ballast does freely move around and will bang around the light housing as the car moves. So I used some velcro to attach to the inside of the housing. I also made sure the ballast did not touch against the actual plastic light housing to eliminate the chance of it melting or putting stress on anything as I think it can get quite warm.

Please be warned that Burger Motorsports will not take them back if you do not like them. I bought them and found them to be less bright during the day than the $26 MTECH halogens that I have in now. The outer ring was also less bright than with the MTECH. In their defense though, the BMS LED's are more blue white than the MTECH halogens and do not dim when the headlights are on like the MTECH. However I drive more with the headlights off than on so I took them back out. I emailed BMS and he does not accept returns on any products he sells other than the ECU tuner upgrades. So make sure you will like them before ordering. He told me to sell mine on the forum or Ebay so anyone wanting mine (used one hour) can have them for $100 plus shipping. Send me a private message.

I can confirm that these are just slightly brighter than the MTEC halogens - mainly the inner ring. I did a side by side comparison. However the colour is a lot whiter, and when the headlights are on it really is miles ahead.
