I might have to disagree a bit, I say the 911 does a good job on being both as well especially the new 991. If it were best bang for the buck, then the M cars is the better choice of the two.

Rfx what I'm describing is a car that can burn it up on the track then turn around and schlep the family and groceries and be comfortable on a long trip. Only BMW

Panamera Turbo S?

To be fair the 911 can do that, just have to buy less groceries or put them in the back seat and leave the kids at home when shopping. Cayman actually has a big trunk space too (one in front and one in the back) if all you need is a 2-seater. Also keep in mind, the GT2 RS has been deemed the most drivable super car by some.

If you want a flat out race car, Porsche may fit the bill better. But what BMW offers it does so better than any other car manufacturer.
I guess it depends on what you consider a DD. As a single guy, both the Z and the 911 work well as a DD. I can actually fit more in the 911 when using the back seats for "storage." An added benefit is that I could only have 1 passenger in the Z (unless you stick someone in the truck... I did that once), but in the 911 I can have a buddy ride in the passenger seat and we can fit two skinny girls in the back seats (or 1 fat one)... everyone is a winner!

911 convertible has 4 seats as well? otherwise u r comparing apples to oranges. not to mention the price difference. if money is no object then its a no brainer choice
