I've had LUX for less than 3 months and started failing today on the passenger side. I got a dash warning light immediately indicating faulty daytime running lamps message. I parked to confirm. I restarted the car and it came back on for only 5 minutes then went out again. Not worth the money. This is my second pair for my Z4. I should have learned the first time. I decided to go back to the factory ambers until something better comes out like OEM or go with Alpines. Besides the Amber seems brighter in daylight compared to LUX.
Hopefully they last longer on the M3. Otherwise, I'd rather go back to factory.

Bummer. LUX are pretty freakin' expensive for just a plug -n- play bulb and now we find out they don't hold up. Falconflyer convinced me to go with Alpine with his side by side photos of his Z4. Less money than LUX, way brighter bulb.

I have had the LUX for one month. I like them and will keep them if they prove reliable. However, they are not as bright as the OEM LEDs or the OEM Amber. The first picture on this thread is accurate as a comparison.
I too had one go out, but it was the female pin backing out at the plug connection. I fiddled and fixed - hopefully this will be the first and last time. The fix was easy and took about 5 minutes or less. As for brightness, I have always felt the OEM LEDs, like those on my 2011 X3 35i, are too bright and look cartoonish. I feel the same way when I see them on other makes, Audi, Mercedes, etc. |

I too think the OEM LED's AE are too bright. I thought I was the only one that thought that. I have the cheap Mtech bulbs and look much whiter than OEM yellow ones and is about as bright. It is about right for me since not as bright as the OEM LED's.

Hey guys,
I had both Weisslicht for my 335i but I changed my car so I am returning to the vendor if I don't buy anything from the vendor I have to pay 20% re stocking fees. So I was thinking of getting the LUX for the zed. Do you think it's worth getting Lux for $300 CAD (282 + shipping from Bimmian) ? If theres a better option I rather pay the restocking fee and get something else. I know there are lots of back and forths on this topic.. Point blank: what's the best AE out there for the Z4. I agree Nothing can beat the OEM AE. Thanks |

Actually the Alpine HID lights are the best.. I have tired 7 of them. They are as bright as the OEM AE LED lights... and the same color. I have had nothing but compliments, and on the 7 series side, most of us are switching over to the Alpine HID lights. There is a very large thread on the Bimmerfest forms on this topic for the F01/02 7 series...
