Courtesy Lights?

How many courtesy lights do we have in the E89?

Dome, Glove, Trunk, what else is there?

Does it depend on the package you get on the car when you buy it as well?

thanks in advance.

There's lots of 'em. footwell, side view mirrors, by the door handles, etc. it has nothing to do with options. It must be a slow day for you if you're counting courtesy lights

It certainly does have to do with options in the uk.

Base levels have only dome and map lights. Higher models get the light package which puts lights in footwells door handles parcel shelf puddle lights etc

I don't have them on the side mirrors, none on the door handles, none in the footwells either... =\

I have a 2009 Sdrive30i. not sure if that has something to do with it.

Oh yes, it has everything to with options. Side view mirror lights and door handle lights are not standard.

Can you add the package later on if it is not in the car already? =\ or does it cost an arm and a leg?

Then with what options are they included? I just looked at the BMW website and I couldn't see any details for options that talked about lighting. standard equipment listed under Comfort and Convenience: Welcome lights with fade-in/fade-out feature, and actuation from remote control

I'd be interested if anyone has any wiring diagrams for the puddle lights.
I had a look at the dome light wiring, but Bm seem to use some kind of signal up there to control the lights, so wasn't obvious which wires could be used to control the puddle lights.

I have comfort access with a light package and here are all the Replaceable OEM w5w incandescent lamps that i replace with the Phillips 6000K ( blue cool color) LED these are code issue lamps .
On the bottom of each door are puddle lamps= 2 lamps total
1 lamp in each foot well facing down mounted in the bottom of the dash =2 lamps total
3 lamps in the dome fixtures all must be replaced by easily removing the complete dome lamp housing and replacing the from the back of the fixture housing= 3 lamps total
1 glove box lamp
1 trunk lamp

Other Permanent OEM LED lamps installed- all these lamps operate when the Comfort Access recognizes the key in range or the doors are opened.
1 orange led lamps behind the seat located near the top of the seat belt = 2 LEDs
1 orange led lamp, located in each door handle inside= 2 LEDs total
1 blue cool colored led lamp located up inside in each exterior door handle = 2 total.
