So how does the etuning work? I run some logs on the cobb, email them to you, then i get a tune back to install? How high do i need to wind the thing up to get all the info you need (do i need to do a 140mph run)? how much additional power do you expect on stock turbos vs an OTS map? very interested in doing an e85 map...

i put down 365whp and 420lbs on 91oct with the mods in my sig.

We send you our base map, you take some logs, we send you an update and its repeated till the car is dialed in to its fuel specific and mods. All this is done at your convienience not ours, and there is no rush

How many revision ? We Dont know, majority of the time our revisions end right around 10

You may put down that on a dyno which does not mean thats what you put down gear to gear on the street. Thats the big difference between being dynoed tuned vs street tuned. The COBB OTS maps are dynoed tuned maps

We dont give an garrantees of how much you will make cause we are not dyno tuning your car and dyno numbers are not realistic for real world performance conditions gear to gear.

You only need to start with a single 3rd gear pull. As everythign is checked and dialed in then we will ask for a 3 and 4th gear pull gether to make sure the transmission in engaging properly and posrt shift timing is recovering properly and no timing corrections.

You will definitely make more power over the OTS maps.. I am currently tuning one of the members here who just went to an E40 fuel map http://datazap.me/u/lamboworld/bqe50...11-12-13-14-21

I am currently on the 3rd version of this E40 map and it pulls like an effing beast. I haven't dyno'd yet but I would guess that I am somewhere around 450 whp or more. I imagine that BuraQ will be finished after a few more logs but I am very happy with the results. The 93 map that he built for me is probably at 400 whp.

Z is for Zilla, Warning Q Rated

I have finalized the base map for stock E89 Z4 sDrive35i applicable also to the 35is with DCT or MT doesnt matter.

Will you see the same boost ? No, more like your boost will be set lower depending on your mods, and then build things up accordingly. I just wanted to see how far I could push the Z4 on stock hardware with just a K&N drop in filter and a custom tune.

Q-Logic was applied to get bbbbbbbooost overboost lol, the way I like it on my own car. Now its time to get an intercooler on this thing, some highflow downpipes and other goodies. However I will take it to the track as is though to see if I can beat the current stock turbo speed trap record for a Z4

Did you do a virtual dyno plot on this tune?

I did but there is an issue with how Virtual Dyno works and the data from my log. Specifically, when you get close to 20 psi, the TPS will reduce the load so it appears to the computer that the accelerator is not at 100%. You can see what I am talking about on my log when the TPS reduces from around 81 to 77 and 78 at peak boost.

I am not 100% sure that this is the problem but i think that is what is causing the vd to looked jacked up. I am really not sure what kind of dyno numbers I will see on Friday.

This is the explanation that I received from Dimitri, who built this map:

That’s part of the elaborate boost controls when in overboost which is a safety to make sure the boost does not come near the stock TMAP sensor's limit. I can increase boost by relaxing it but not recommended unless you have a N20 maps sensor installed which would be easier to raise the tapper on your boost also.

As you hit each gear the boost will rise on the 3rd consecutive gear to about 20 PSI straight across almost and the TPS helps to guide it when in overboost.

Lambobimmer,
Thanks for posting VD. I just completed my WedgePerformance tune. Other mods just added were ER charge pipe with Tial BOV and new PS2's. Very happy with tune. Throttle response predictability and repeatability is better than the OTS tune I was running. I will run a VD once tires are broken in. Hope to find a local dyno day also. LSD was a definite necessity.

I have been meaning to post this dyno. Anyways here is my E50 dyno with stock turbos and stock inlets. It was 90 degrees on the day that I got on the dyno so there is certainly more power if was 20 degrees cooler. I also had some throttle closure going on as well that I will need to address.

I plan on getting Pure Stage 2 turbos with inlets soon so I might not even mess with my stock turbo tune.

I also had an opportunity to take it to a 1/2 mile event and here are a few videos. I ran between 139 and 140 all day. I beat a FBO C5 Z06, smoked a C6 ( I will upload that video later), got smoked by a 750whp GT500 and lost to a Single Turbo 335i.

Lambo. Congratz on the kills! A FBO C5 is impressive.

When are you planning to pull the trigger on the turbo upgrade? This thing is going to be a monster!

Finally got the Z4 35i on the dyno, but decided to do it on a mustang dyno as I wanted the worse case of power. Turns out we dynoed our all stock + tune + K&N drop in filter at 395 whp / 448 wtq

Had a throttle closure that shorten the gains, if I didnt have those throttle closures it would have made it clear above 400 whp / 450 wtq

Here are the logs for the dyn pull

http://www.datazap.me/u/buraq/dyno-s...19&zoom=77-255

Today I just installed the ESC CF Air Intake, same tune and will be returning back to the dyno and track for results.

This is a R&D car so, i do not recommend anyone running this type of power on a stock E89 Z4. I was simply looking for the limits on the E89 Z4. IAT were crazy high that I had to put in 3 gals of E85 to mitigate for the high temps and no mod upgrades.

The type of power will sit well with an upgraded intercooler and and upgraded air intake box. However the most critical is the fuel quality

I have the ER E89 Z4 kits with FMIC, CP, and BOV on order, some inlets, UUB SSK, AR DPs, and Ive already got the ECS CF intake

Thanks

Unfortunately I am not ready to go to MHD as there is no need to until I get upgraded turbos.

In fact I use bother COBB and MHD. COBB I use as a flasher, and MHD as a logger/monitor (while doing live tuning with ATR on the streets etc) and for diagnostics
