Current Z4 out of production already??

Hi,

Yesterday i went to dealer with intention to order a new Z4 with all the option i wanted. He told me the current Z4 can't be ordererd anymore. The only new Z4 's left are on stock, new can't be build. This is in the Netherlands. Isn't this very soon (speculations for Z5 in 2018??) Is this in all countries?

Z4 production ended in Feb 2016. Only dealer stock is available until next gen roadster. What is that? Who knows.

Only thing for sure is hard top option is no longer.

It lasted longer than February. It was either the end of June or will be ending soon in July. I am picking up my e89 next week in Germany. It was produced in June. It is probably one of the last of the e89s.

The Z5 (with a ragtop) won't be available until at least mid 2017

You probably did. I was going off of BMW's production map, which my CA showed me when we were shopping for our Z4. I also found this online at: http://www.bimmerfest.com/pdf/bmw-pr...nformation.pdf

It ended 9 days ago i.e. the 30th of June, quietly at that. Z4 with ragtop doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I do not like softops either. Hardtop on the e89 looks far superior. Congratulations to all who bought one of the e89s - perhaps one of the best looking and identifiable BMWs made to date.

They look the part driving on a country road or parked on the roadside; I noted on a recent trip they are quite popular in central London.

The convertible hardtop is what convinced me to get a brand new Z4 at the end of its production for my ED trip. I have owned several e85s and e89s and was not going back to a ragtop. I ordered it WAY EARLY because I didn't want to miss its last production run. I was a bit panicked when I originally saw that February 2016 EOP bulletin, but several people assured me production wouldn't end until May or June such that I wouldn't miss out.

I don't have the precise dates, but I know my car was listed as "still in production" as of June 16. I wasn't checking it every day, but the first day I saw its status change to "production complete" was June 30. So it could be one of the very last ones. When I am in Germany I will try to find out details on the end of production. I am not going to the Regensburg plant where the Z4 was produced because I thought (correctly) that they wouldn't be making anymore by the time I got there.

Like many if you, I don't like soft tops. knowing the next generation was not going to be a hard top, I pulled the trigger in March for my Z4 35is.

Though I don't have actual numbers, I have been told that BMW imports about 300 35is to the USA annually; the entire line has been low volume anyway. Though some cars are not popular while they are in production, they catch on after. I am hopeful the E89 will be like that. It has beautiful lines and handles well all around. Maybe it will reach a point where it may appreciate in value instead. Either way, I really enjoy my Z4.

I wish I would have seen it. I have had a Montego Blue e85 (gorgeous) and Deep Sea Blue e89 (it is my son's car now) as well as a Melbourne Red e89, but the color I have always wanted for a Z4 was Estoril Blue or LeMans Blue. I am really getting stoked to pick up the new ride on Friday. I will post a few picks after I pick it up. Will be looking for some picturesque locations in Bavaria and Italy.

Hopefully the value of the E89 will rise in a few years. It's definitely one of the unique styles with one of the best motora, n54.

Anxiously waiting

I searched thru several BMW dealers for a new Z4 with the options I wanted, but couldn't find a single one. A dealer in Ontario told me they had one on order from BMW in production and they were able to modify the options/color to suit my needs, so I am ANXIOUSLY WAITING...the car is supposed to arrive in Halifax on July 29, 2016. Valencia Orange with the Hyper something interior....drooling....

Congratulations to your new ride.

Would be interesting to know how many Z4 E89 were build in estoril blue. Even that I know a lot of german Z4 owners from our board I never seen one in estoril.

Not having an estoril Z4 myself, but also can see the colour every day on my wifes car ;-)

Thanks - Valencia Orange is a really cool color for the Z4 too. My dentist has a 1 Series M in Valencia Orange. It's a great looking car.

Thanks for your feedback.

Just a short view on Valencia orange and Estoril blue in love. Sorry, but I had to cut the picture on the ipad otherwise it would not fit into the board requirements.

Love the wheels on your Z4. Those are two great looking cars. The Estoril blue can make a station wagon look cool.
