steering wheel recirculated air button

i found rediculous that BMW choose to put such a device on the steering wheel specifically on a roadster.i found the utility of it next to nothing.they should use that space for a more clever function, like closing the nav screen that pop open everytime we start the engine even if we dont need it! your thought?

Although useless when the top is down, if you have a car or diesel in front of you with bad exhaust at a stop light it is handy when the top is up.

Which is most of the time here in the UK! I use that function quite a bit in heavy traffic.

Coincidently, on my E60 which is programable for the buttons
I use both recirculate air and audio source , same as on Z4
I don't know why Z4 buttons are not programable?
