Standard / Pro or Premium Speakers? Should I change my order?

Hi 'zed' fans,

As you might know I've ordered a Z4 which is due for delivery in april.
However I am still able to change the stereo since the car isn't in production yet and I'm considering to upgrade the stereo.

I prefer a decent speaker setup but it isn't necessairy. However I've read that the standard 6-speaker setup in the Z4 is total crap?

I drove a e46 & e90 with standard speakers and pretty much liked it. Didn't LOVE it but they did their job very good with a decent bass response.

Is the standard speaker setup really that bad? Because it really has me in doubt now to get the upgraded speaker setup.

All I can tell you is that I have the premium sound system, and it sounds great! From reading on here most who have the standard audio do not seem impressed at all...

I know the standard systems in general aren't that good but they were never bad on my other BMW's. However on the Z4 I really read BAD reviews so maybe I should consider an extra upgrade after all...

Since you've ordered a somewhat expensive car (as we all did), unless it's something you specifically DON'T want, it's probably false economy NOT to order it. It's a relative pittance, really.

I have had the USA prem BMW audio on the following
99 m3 Sounded great hk
02 330i Great hk logic 7 I think
07 335i Great logic 7
10 135i ok. Not great but not bad, not the hk. Think they went back to hk in 11
11 Z4. 14 speaker prem audio. Junk
12 Z4. 14 speaker prem audio. Scheduled to be worked on so. Horrible bass response.
