Are you talking about the BMW one? You should be able to get it from the part dept??

I assume it's this one
(Kurz is German for sport and the image of a 1 series is confusing!)

If so, the part number is: 65 20 0 427 463

Let us know what you think when/if you get it

Has anyone found a source in the U.S.A. for these particular stubby antennas? Hate the stock BMW one - do they pay any attention to this forum - no one seems to like it?

Best regards,
Ed

Would that Peugeot part number not work in the US? Got to be honest, I've not seen many Peugeots in the US.

This antenna is only for AM radio reception and phone reception if you have the snap-in phone adapter. So if you care less about either of these, change it with impunity but if you use either, check they are not adversely affected. FM, DAB, HD, Satellite Radio, Navigation and Comfort Access antennae are located elsewhere on the E89. It's a good thing I'm a sceptic on the debate whether radiation from living near antennae is dangerous. The scaremongers would have a field-day in a fully kitted z4!

Kindly no, the antenna also receives FM signals. Try taking it out and you will see for yourself. Cheers

I'm not sure if this would work or not. It is made out of aluminum and not rubber like with the UK ebay site aerials are made.

For the U.S.A. peeps about to hijak this thread.....

Here is a good thread with photos for us Yanks to follow. It seems the Sirius/FM reception is unaffected but the AM reception is crap. So if you love your AM sports radio station, you may need to change to a "slider" aerial or stick with the original.

I can't argue with someone's actual findings but my information is that the FM (diversity) antennae and signal amplifier are behind the rear bumper. For me (in London) FM/VHF is unaffected whether or not the original antenna is attached but AM/UHF most certainly is compromised even by touching it. We don't get Satellite Radio but I understand its antenna is built into the boot (trunk) lid (hence the lump). For TV the antenna is again behind the bumper and Navigation's is at the top of the windshield frame. I have the full phone package but, as yet, no snap-in adapter. According to my information it is the whip antenna to which any phone mounted in the adapter defaults. While they might work, I have my doubts whether a £10 antenna from a French runabout or an even cheaper far-east cosmetic accessory would be optimised for the purpose. But like I said, those who have no need for the phone or AM facility should go ahead . . . . I would.
