alarm add?

Hey guys!! Great forum!! Much more active than i would have thought due to low sales numbers. Anyway, I know on my old three series coupe (E92) it was prewired, and i just added the alarm after at the dealership. Does the E89 offer the same ability? I couldnt find it as an add on on getbmwparts.com so was curious. Also, does anyone make all weather floor mats for this car, considering the oem are no longer made? thanks

Have you tried E9X floor mats ?

I believe for 2011 it is pre-wired just like the E9X. 2012 was when they made it standard

One other 2012 change you should consider retrofitting is the "pull-pull" paddle shifters if you have an automatic.

Welcome.

I'm in the same boat as you; would like to know this as well!

Also, I really like the "push-pull" paddle shifters. Only one hand is needed to shift up or down, and I think they look a lot sportier too.

I dont think the alarm is prewired in our vehicles like previous models were. There are a lot of items that just are not simply added such as idrive, alarm etc.

As far as the paddles, I am glad mine are pushpull on both sides since most vehicles that have the left as down sift and right for upshift are stationary to the column so that when you are turning the wheel you know which paddle is which. My 1 is lefty righty and i alwyas have a hard time figuring out which paddle to pull during a turn.

You downshift during the corner entry before you turn the wheel and let the computer upshift on corner exit when you hit the redline.. no biggie

I know lots of people that are absolute about having left downshift and right upshift. I like my push pull down/upshift, I can do it with either hand on the wheel. Push for power, pull for cruise lol
