IPOD controls

Is anyone else frustrated that you don't seem to be able to do things like fast-forward, rewind, pause (although you can "sort of" do that by pressing the volume/of-off button) etc from the iDrive or even the IPOD itself.

The up/down buttons on the righthand side on the steering wheel can, not only, be used to skip tracks (backwards & forwards) but, if held down, will FF or RW through a song.

X2, I haven't found a "Pause" function yet other than switching to Sirius or turning it off. It restarts where it left off ....

The advance/rewind controls for the Radio (just below the AM/FM button) work to fast forward/rewind podcasts when playing.

When controlling the ipod through the CD player. Is there any way to speed up scrolling through the various 'fields'? e.g. artist, album. I only seem to be able to scroll using the right knob, and that is horrendously slow.

Good stuff too! Was working on the same issue. big help.
Just got he car. Haven't figured out all the bluetooth phone connectivity yet.
Just seems to work but wondering how to successfully get the address book etc in the system. Keeps saying address book empty.
BTW, no Nav.

What phone do you have? Some are more compatible than others, either the manual or BMW NA website has the official list of supported phones. However, even if you phone is not on the list, it doesn't mean it won't work, it might have been released after the manual was printed, or simply not tested by BMW. I have Samsung Galaxy S2 with 300+ address book entries, no problems.
