PayPal is secure and safe. I use it often for online shopping especially if I'm too lazy to go grab my credit card. The better question is, is the vendor you're buying from legit?

Every single time I take the easy route of PayPal, it asks me if I wouldn't rather use my CC.

No experiences with loss of funds via PP.

+1

I use PP all the time and whenever I buy stuff off the forums, I always send an extra 4% for the buyer protection.

I've never had a bad experience with them. I also use Venmo, which is a PP product and never had any problems.

Garage List
paypal all the way for me.

i have done a lot of purchases over several years with paypal without issue. They were even incredibly responsive when i delt with a seller on ebay who tried to scam me out of my money by sending me a fake product from what he advertised.

No loss of funds experienced with PP for me

I would trust Paypal over any other form of online payment.
Having a CC linked to it gives you multiple layers of protection and it has been hassle and problem free for me for years.

Personally I would rather pay a new vendor I'm not 100% sure of with Paypal than a credit card. They can't really steal your paypal info and they cant charge more than what was authorized and if you have issues you can dispute it with Paypal.

Like others have said you can have your credit card as a funding method for Paypal.

In the US its way to easy to get reimbursed. With AMEX, ive gotten charge backs of 1300 in the past and was able to keep the goods. VS MC are a little harder, the process is more involved but AMEX is quick at settling disputes

Any purchases I make online are done exclusively through pay pal.

If a site doesn't offer pay pal option I do not buy from them.

Simple as that.

I use PayPal on a regular basis since the early years with no issues plus they cover an extra protection. It verifies buyer and seller so that’s good too. Free for just sending to friends and family.

I used PayPal without an account. A merchant had a "no registration, one time PayPal usage" over a "use your PayPal account" option: you fill in your card, etc. data just as if you're just paying with that card. It was a cheap (15$) download (no physical delivery) purchase. It worked all right, payment-wise I used my bank's "virtual card" online service as a protection, just as usual (never disclosing my physical cards online).

My experience setting up a PayPal account is thoroughly negative. PayPal was so meticulous it made it impossible to use. And a faulty implementation of that complex security policy. They had a ton of restrictions they didn't bother to disclose before you started an account and when you failed to complete they didn't even let you delete it! What got me really pissed-off was they stole my verification transaction 2$ by using it for charity (as they told me: MY money, no permission, THEIR charity) instead of supposed returning! No FuckPal for me since, but they do send me their policy updates despite I opted off their subscription.

Do you mean you got the goods for free by disputing a transaction? Ain't it a theft?

I tried reaching the company in regards to the matter, they never bothered to answered me, we are talking about a set of wheels and tires. Never replied emails, nothing. Paypal dispute and AMEX, etc.

PayPal is great. Don’t agree to “gift” the money for a lower price, though.

PayPal was the first place where my personal information was compromised. I closed my PayPal account many years ago. Since then, information has probably been compromised another dozen places. Nothing online is safe as far as I can tell.

until you deal with Paypal customer service or open a case with them, you don't know anything about paypal... i use paypal because in many cases I do not have an alternative but as soon as the apple pay support is released, I am out...
