muffler removal questions
I found a local shop that's willing to remove the mufflers and go straight pipe or replace the mufflers with something that'll hopefully be louder than stock. I want to keep both cat's so muffler delete/replacement is my only option. I actually searched the forums before asking this and I couldn't find a similar question. On the right muffler there is a value with a line running off of it.
1) what does this value do 2) can we just plug the line if I remove the entire muffler with the value? Will this cause any sort of CEL (check engine light)? Or should I just leave the line open? 3) I couldn't trace where the line actually ran to.. anyone know? I gotta say this car stock (sdrive35is) is very quiet so I want to try to do something to make it sound more sporty. thanks, Mike |

You can disconnect the hose from the valve. No cel. People do it all the time so that the valve is always open and you get more sound at start up.
Funny that you think your 35is muffler is too quiet. That's what I thought about my 35i muffler. Then I had a 35is muffler welded on. Just right!
