Similarity between Ivory white and Canberra beige?
I notice that on the photos I have seen on the net the two are actually strangely fairly similar, with the beige only being a couple of shades darker than the cream-coloured ivory white. It appears quite light for your typical beige. Is this a true assessment of what the colours look like in real life?
I am thinking of getting beige as I dont like the woodgrain trim that comes with the ivory white (prefer aluminium) but don't really want a beige that looks like the 3-series beige. Would prefer a similarity to the Oyster colour. Last edited by Alext; 07-16-2010 at 07:36 AM.. |

Go walnut - it looks awesome.
The ivory is very white... especially in the sun. BUT, the leather is very very soft and smooth.

Haha now more confused. I really, really like the ivory leather for sure but the dark wood trim puts me off getting the package.
I also like the walnut but have a hard time imagining it in real life esp with black. Some say it looks too orange or a bit like poo in real life! So I thought well beige is a safe bet....argh |

You've seen the photos right? I think the "looks too orange" comments comes from the expectation people have that it will look like walnut wood, like a dining room table which is more brown.
For the Z I think BMW's Walnut is great and will look fantastic with black!

And in defence of the ivory... When I am driving, I have yet to notice anythign about the interior design / colour.
An occassional glance at the nav / music selection is it. Then back to grinning as I make the exhaust start talking to me again... If only the fuel wasn't 1.32 a litre. been getting 11l/100km so far. But it has been lots of fun.

I enjoy the Ivory. I do like the dark wood. Yes the Beige is very light. I saw the walnut in person tonight. Very nice. Yes its a bit orange but it is very much like a real walnut.
My favorite color with aluminum trim is the red.

- With Red paint it is pure sport - With Space Gray it is pure class - With Black it would be pure elegance The ash wood trim compliments it beautifully, especially in the sun... when the grain is highlighted, mirroring the rich walnut color. Granted, it's not for everyone (thank goodness) so each his own... but my decision is confirmed every time I step in the car or see it from a distance.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...158&highlight= I too really like the Walnut Leather and Ash wood trim. It has a classy look, but you won't forget you're driving a sports car.
