Nav screen wont open or close
Ok, so my 1st ever problem with the z after 10 months of ownership. This morning when I got in the car on the way to work the nav scrieen didnt open. i could hear the music change stations everything but it just would not open up.
I gently plyed it up and it all worked fine, zero issues with any of the functionality of the navigation but it some how wont open or close now. I installed a smart top over 4 months ago so I would find it odd if this was causing an issue. Ideas? EDIT: So I went back to my car at work now and hit options > Close screen> and it closed. Took out the key and put it back in without turning on the car and the screen opens and closes now. Seems it might have been just a reboot? Odd Gremlins lurking in the Z4 today. Its not likely the smart top as this interfaces only with the roof mechanism. I'd try leaving the car for an hour and then going back to it to see if its still stuck. Sometimes these cars are too complex for their own good and gremlins creep in. If its still stuck, then its possibly an electrical/motor fault.

My 09 which I bought 1 year ago with 26K on the clock did the same thing 1 time. I too left the car overnight, came back and all was and is well. Never happened again. I happen to have the car in for an annual service and no error codes were present.
