Taking a poll for iDrive owners...
On the fence on a Platinum wrap on a 2011 CPO. As I understand it, it basically adds entertainment/Nav/stereo only. Anyone have any issues? Did price out a display and it is like $2k for the display alone.

OP, are you asking about whether or not to get the "platinum" CPO warranty to get coverage for the navi and stereo, right? Not about whether or not to get a car with iDrive ?
Some owners here have posted troubles with the screen rattling and not opening/closing as expected so it like it is worthwhile to get that coverage. What is the additional cost? |

825 for Platinum wrap for CPO coverage through 5/17. That's about 1/3 the cost of a new display. Just didn't know if they were a problem child in Bimmers to warrant it. The constant open/close at start up though had me wondering.

I went with the Gold Plus Extended Protection plan covering all mechanical and will be self insuring on the IDrive for Navi/DVD players etc. This bump in premium for the Platinum was almost $900. I wasn't feeling the love.
After my 1 year of owner ship and the previous 26k miles by the 1st owner, no issues.
