Self-installing dealer options?
Hello, I have a question that I hope people here can help with. I recently purchased a dreamy limited edition Z4 here in Japan, because I liked the color and options. It's dreamy and I love it, though there are a few points I was concerned about. Mainly, because it's a pre-specced limited edition vehicle it's "impossible" (meaning BMW won't let me) to add some additional features such as the "Extended connectivity of the music player in the mobile phone” (SA 6NF) and the Bluetooth hands free add-on, to my car.
My question is, what exactly is the nature of these parts? Is there a chance I could order the parts in question and install them myself, or have the work done by a capable after-market stereo installer I know here in Japan? Would the Bluetooth hands-free system require a software upgrade to work, or would it sense that it was enabled if the required part were snapped in place? Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can offer. |

Posted in wrong section, that model is the e89. This area is e85/86, previous generation so most of us are not familiar with your chasis.
