Retrofit bluetooth option

Hi,

Just picked up my new Z4 yesterday, and so far loving it .

There is just one thing, it has iDrive, USB interface and all, but no bluetooth option. Is this something that can be retrofitted? I spoke to the dealer, but he wanted in the region of SEK 16.000 for it, which is about twice the listprice when you spec the car.

I don't know how it is possible not to have Bluetooth if you have idrive and the USB port. Are you sure?

in sweden, they can add one thing at a time or thru a package. so it's not unlikely that he's missing bluetooth.

anything you ask the dealer to retrofit will cost you more then when you ordered the car, so i would say, either buy it and install it yourself and then ask the dealer to activate, or just get an aftermarket bluetooth option like Parrot or something similar

ask eas if this works for e89, it says e85 but it might work

I bet you have it ... you just need someone to show you how to activate it.

If you don't have it then I am sure it can be added. You need to talk to the right person at the dealership. Find out who introduces customers to there cars ... that be your man or woman to help you out.

I just got a z4 it has nav and other things but no bluetooth. I was wondering if anything can be done with it,

Hi, happend to me aswell. Haven't done it yet though. You kneed 1 cablage that cost around 6000 SEK then ther are not more than 1 1/2 hours of work on the E89 according to BMW's own install instructions. I am thinking of doing this myself during winter or if I can get BMW to do it for 8-9000 Sek.

16000 is right on other cars but the E89 already have most of it installed from the factory when you have USB interface.

Went to the dealer today on another issue, asked for the cablekit and price was much cheaper now than when I asked last year, less than 3000 Sek incl microphone . Then you need the coding of the car at 1700 Sek/hour..............but I think there are others that can do that much cheaper.....I have to dig deeper into this cause really wants BT cause there are no good place to put the phone ......
