First Aid Kit
Was looking through my manual today, came upon a notation there should be a first aid kit located on the shelve behind the passenger seat. I know when I collected my Z there wasn't a first aid kit to be found. Any others have the kit at purchase, or did your cars come without? Thanks.

It's a German spec item, not sure if any other countries require it. There's nothing magic in it and the bag is just plain black nylon. You could easily duplicate what is in the kit.
You will get one if you do European Delivery (Munich pick-up) but it will be taken from the car upon import if you don't remove it before shipping. You can buy one here if you really want one: http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/p...111469062.html

As was said, I got one at my ED delivery. I took it as well as some other items on the plane with me so I was assured to have it when the car arrived. It's just some gauze, bandaids, a flask of whiskey...

We have one. The German first aid kit is now standard on UK spec Z4s.
It is a generic DIN 13164 kit in a black nylon bag. It is a good kit, but you can get something similar for less money. |

I know on past bmw models, the first aid kit was somewhat integrated into the car through some underseat storage compartment. Sadly, when we picked up the e89 in Munich via Euro Delivery, the first aid pouch was sitting loosely on the rear shelf.
The cooler item that came via Euro Delivery not included in US cars is the warning triangle. It attaches snugly inside the trunk and is pretty neat when you open it up. |

NO! Don't put the emergency kit in the boot/trunk! If the car loses power, eg in an accident, you can't open the boot/trunk! Keep it safe in the cabin somewhere. |

This is the kit from our Feb 2012 build UK Z4.
It is a Holthaus brand German DIN 13 164 First Aid Kit. There is no BMW branding on it. This is not the same as BMW one sold in the US. These are true first aid kits. There are no band-aids or Tylenol in the kit. The kit contains bandages, tape, gloves scissors and a mylar blanket. Last edited by Andrew*Debbie; 05-18-2012 at 02:33 AM.. |

Thanks for the responses. I didn't check the fine text in the manual, just noted that I didn't have the kit, which I've had as a standard option in most previous purchases.....
