Roll bar cover removal

does the plastic cover just pry off? im going to have mine wrapped in carbon fiber. i want to make sure i dont break it trying to get it off.
i know there have been some people that have painted them.

I think there is a correct way to take them off otherwise you will break the tabs, but I don't know what that is
