New wheels, tires and TPMS shows inactive.
I bought a 2nd set of wheels and tires and I bought an after market TPMS set that is compatible with our cars.
Does anyone know the procedure to code them so the car can read these new sensors? I have tried the reset procedure but this doesn't work so I imagine that I have to get someone to code them. This is what I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks |

No coding necessary. They detect the sensor automatically once they are within proximity. Make sure you move your old sensor/wheels far enough away though so the car is not detecting those instead.
As for why it doesn't work... possibility wrong frequency/incompatibility? I know BMW changed frequency in their TPMS in 2009/2010 MYs. I know Amazon says it is compatible with an 09 Z4 but I am very skeptical on Amazon compatibility tables. The description does not list a frequency though so hard to tell. |

Hello, did you ever get this resolved. I bought new tires from Discount Tire Direct, Beyern Rims and tires and they put my TPM in before I received them. I took it to NTB and they read the sensors in each tire, and they relearned the system and the light went off then came back on.

2011 Z4 TPMS Malfunction/Inopperative
Hello,
I have a 2011 Z4 35i and I had stock wheels on my vehicle and I decided to change them because I needed new tire. I went with Beyern wheels which I bought from Discount Tire Direct. They installed TPM sensor HUF UV4030 TQ40 RED 433 MHZ Intellisens. Prior to installing these tires, I had not issues with my TPMS. I jacked my car up and used jacks where there the jack mounts are located for each side and swapped out the tires. After driving a couple of feet the light came on and stated inactive and then my system stated System Malfunction. I took it to NTB and they checked each sensor and it read that they are working. They reflashed the system and the code went away and reflected they system reading properly. I drove about 3 miles and the light came back on. I am stumped by this because everything is checking out, and I do not believe I could have damage anything jacking the car out. If anyone could shed any light on this would be very helpful... Thanks. |

I bought my wheels and TPMS sensors from a group buy on this site and they work perfectly. They made me give them the VIN number for my car to make sure I had the correct sensors. It seems BMW changed sensors depending on the production date. The company was Apex Race Parts. Very helpful people. I would contact them to make sure you have the correct sensors for your car. I installed mine with a set of snow tires and no set up needed. They read right away.
