2009 30i Pre-Purchase inspection

I have a lead on a one-owner, CPO, good carfax 30i being sold from a dealer (who sold the car new). Are there any threads on what to look for doing a self-PPI on a 2009 Z4 30i?

Thanks.

1. Check that it has the Software refresh which cured the stalling issue on some 30i, had it done on mine while back and no issues since, but it did help to improve responsiveness a bit, with no change in fuel consumption.

2. Rear quarter panel vents, this has caused water intrusion into the trunk area on some cars, but not all [seems a few were put in backwards].

No pushing 50,000km on my 2009 and still love it. Waiting on the 328i Front brake kit to show up and a set of steel brake lines, and then back to the Ring in the Spring and see how this last mod works. The brakes aren't really required for the street, but are needed for the Ring if you are doing more than 2-3 laps in a row. would so totally buy this car/model again.

Is the car a blue manual with NAV?

No. Beige -- but it looks so close to Ivory White.

I also found another 35i/DCT/Ivory White/Nav car in California today for about the same price. I might have to fly out there to look at it. Good thing airfare is fairly cheap ($320 r/t).

If you had to choose between a 30i Manual, and a 35i DCT, which would it be?

I personally don't drive a manual so I am not a good person to ask. I like the DCT. The shifts are seamless and powerful in the 35i. Ivory interior, from what I've read is hard to keep clean. Beige might be better in that regard!

Agreed. Just ask to see the maintenance records and make sure any applicable recall has been performed.
