Z4 35i wheel/tyre choose 276 or 325m 18'' ?
I do have the 296 19'' on the e89 35i, such a headache, I even bought a 5th wheel to have it standby for substitute when the others broken... in 2 years time they cracked more than 12 times and repaired all. Last month I bought same rft tyres, again repaired all 5 wheels and 2 days ago I was left stranded by another crack at some mountain resort area. That was it! The car was moved by truck to the dealer in Athens (Greece). Tommorow I am ordering either the 276 or the 325m 18'' with non-rft tyres and hope I get rid of this mess...
But i do not know which one is best suited / most hard to deal with the bumps and pottholes (for this reason I am degrading from 19'' to 18'' and non-rft anymore) Any Help? |

What seems to have solved the problem is getting rid of the RFT'S. No cracks and no repairs since then and also a much GREATER quality of ride.

Thanks yr replies.
The 296 19" are obsolete now cause i had them repaired sooo many times and they become thin for sure. Unfortunately I bought the new run flats a month ago. The option to buy now non-runflats and fit them on these multi cracked 296s will not give me any assurance that it won't happen again..from all posts worldwide seems the 296 is "faulty" I made a favorable deal and I exchange everything with new wheels 325m 18" and non-runflats and make a new beggining...and hopefully can go anywhere -anytime with no fear. Although i love the amazing looks of the 296 19".... I love to get rid of them now!! (meantime i ride my 15 year old Z3 which never gave me any kind of trouble... amazing car amazing quality by all means i think..) |

furthermore it seems that in the us and uk as well they have same issues with the 296,
add to that, as you said, the greek roads quality... and there you have the perfect storm..lol |

lol yea, i was between the Z4 and the X6 for Greece and sometimes the "Greek road reality" makes me regret not getting the X6...

I have the 293s and they look great and hide the ugly calipers, but I'm glad I have a pressure washer to keep them cleen cause my fingers are too big to fit in all the places.
